why I do this
I was having one of those bogus-copyrights-and-tricky-studio-policies kind of days when it hardly seems worth it to continue to make dance videos … then I received this email message:
Hello Perfect Dance Videos,
My name is Krista Szyndlar; I am Ellary Day Szyndlar’s mom. I just found your You Tube channel and a video of my daughter on it. I am very new to this competitive dance world; my daughter is only six years old. She just started at Yoko’s Dance and Performing Arts Academy a couple months ago; so, we are learning quickly!
I wanted to thank you for posting her video! I cannot wait to send it to friends and family to watch.
She was absolutely overjoyed. We actually do not watch TV in our house, but she loves You Tube. She searches for inspirational videos. She will watch and try to imitate the talented dancers herself. She learns many moves this way. She is in awe of so many of the dancers and routines on your channel. She lives to dance and enjoys seeing how she may be able to dance one day in the future. I do not know if you are a dancer yourself, but thank you for this channel. I am sure it is a lot of work to maintain it. I hope you know many out there, including a little six-year-old from California, loves finding dance videos. She recently had surgery and could not dance for several weeks. You Tube dance was one of her only ways to feel she was moving again. And now, she is even on it. WOW! Thanks again! She said to tell you, “Thank you so much! I just do not know what to say. This is huge to me. I promise to keep working hard and I hope to have many more dances that you like.”
We just started her an Instagram @ellaryday She does not have a You Tube account, nor do I. Otherwise, I would comment on your channel. I will have to set one up soon so we can comment and thank you more publicly.
this post was my introduction to ellary day way back when, and my god, does it makes me emotional knowing where her and her sister are now
