one of my favorite things about Gale is that he is so incredibly catty but only in a handful of situations. most of the time he’s a fairly understanding guy, like he sympathized with what he thought was a grieving goblin child and he also didn’t have a negative reaction to Astarion being a vampire. but then he also does shit like make snide comments about Wyll being a warlock any chance he gets, even when that poor man is obviously suffering. like😭 when Wyll sacrifices his soul to save his father’s life and explains yet again that he was situationally forced into a pact to save the city that he was raised to rule and protect, Gale will say some bullshit like “well i’m sure happy i wasn’t a thoughtless stupid fucking idiot and didn’t become a warlock!!” as if he doesn’t have a nuclear bomb in his chest for far less dignified reasons. he’s such a catty hypocritical jackass it’s insane

being a bg3 fan is so annoying because on one hand astarion's companion story really is that good and i actually do really like him as a character and especially as a nuanced portrayal of an abuse survivor using questionable-at-best coping mechanisms to deal with his trauma. but on the other hand oh my god stop talking about him. please. please stop talking about him. at some point It Simply Gets To A Point.
