Your version of Astarion has become my absolute favorite! so often it feels like artists that are new to the bg3 space kind of melt into the same artstyle over time, idk if you've noticed that or not. but your depiction of astarion is so unique and lively instead of constantly focusing on how sexy he is. its a nice change and i commend you for your focus on it!
Thank you for the love. Expressions are my favorite thing to draw, so I have a feeling that makes me lean toward drawing more things that seem ridiculous or lively, like you put it. So it means a lot to hear that feels like one of the things that stands out about my art.
That being said, I'm also a big believer, as an artist, in absorbing things from other art styles buffet-style if you like them. So, naturally, it would make sense that some styles start to look similar over time. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes. That's one of the steps of growing as an artist.
Aaaand Astarion is inherently a good lookin dude. That's part of his whole arc as a character. Of course people are going to focus on that. If you were to see some of my tiktoks or Patreon posts I'm not sure you'd say I don't see him that way lol. I can't take credit for a mindset I don't have, even if I appreciate the appreciation.
Some of my personal favorite Astarion depictions are
@duzemine Love how they're seamlessly able to combine the look of Astarion's in-game model with their art style. I love when people give him the amount of muscle he has in-game.
@mistercrowbar Love how sharp they draw him. Master of perfectly emphasized wrinkles and eyelashes.
@liubovricci The god of drawing Astarion's hair spot-fucking-on every time. AND the claws. Don't forget the claws.
@tikvin It's a rare treat when we get to see him in their art style. The white lashes have become a personal favorite detail of mine.
@meanbossart King of making the human vampire body look sexy, perfections and imperfections alike. No one makes undead look better than this guy. Love the details he includes to show Astarion is, in fact, not living.
@blatterburystreet I'm biased because her Drizzt and Astarion piece is one of my favorite Astarion pictures of all time, but every other piece she has with Astarion in it is perfection too.
Just to name/recommend a few, amongst many many more. Each one of them post things that scratch the itch for sexy Astarion OR funny Astarion. If you keep your mind open to appreciating the little things, even if the overall theme may seem repetitive to you, you'll be able to pull inspiration from anywhere. Hope I don't seem like I'm going over the top in response, like I said I do appreciate the appreciation. But my inspiration comes from everywhere else too. Hate to see others brought down in the same breath I'm praised in. Credit where it's due, n whatnot.
