tumblring for these 6 people always in my notifications
the og star wars trilogy really said, here is a villain. it's ok, you can hate him. you can root for his downfall. he is ruthless and evil. he's killed countless people. he killed our hero's mentor. he chokes people to death, even his own officers.
oh, and also, he's our hero's father.
suddenly everything is flipped on its head. yeah darth vader is still the villain, but now he's luke's family, his blood relative, the long-dead father he used to beg his uncle for stories about. despite all we have seen, luke is certain there is good in him.
and luke is proven to be right.
star wars said here is a villain, and he is a man, and he has done terrible things, and he continues to do terrible things, and he still has good in him, and he is still worth redeeming, and all of those things can be true.
I don’t know what headmate, alter, or part needs to hear this, but having skills transfer over from one system member to another is not a sign you’re faking
It’s okay if your art styles are the same, or your handwriting, or your speech patterns, or your system has some unique skill that you’ve never learned but you still know how to do. That’s normal. When you share a brain with others there’s bound to be some things that you all share. That’s ok.
You’re not faking, I promise

Uh oh, the owner of the house caught us
Crazy proportions on this dude
your strengths are harder to see than your weaknesses because the problems you're good at solving don't appear as problems, because you're so good at handling them before they become problems... unlike the relatively rare problem that becomes a crisis, which demands undue attention. it's sort of like a reverse survivorship bias. the problems that become noticed as problems, the moments where you notice your capacity has a gap, are only the ones that aren't cut off at the pass by your strength and capability, before they become problems. so if all you focus on is problems then all you'll see is your weaknesses. which isn't accurate
One of my favorite little bits in Hadestown is when Hades sings, "and I could use a canary" in "Hey, Little Songbird", because he sings it to Eurydice, but the thing is, female canaries don't really sing. They chirp and whistle, but its the male canaries that sing more elaborate melodies. So then, in "Way Down Hadestown Reprise" and "Flowers", when she's down in the mine, no one is listening to Eurydice (the female canary, down in the mine), but once Orpheus comes- Orpheus, who's gifted, who's touched by the gods themselves, who's a male canary in a mine- people hear and listen to him.
When you tell someone about being mistreated because of your disability, there is a common response that goes something along the lines of, "But did you explain to them properly why you can't do x thing?" "Did you make sure they understood why you need x accomodation?" "Maybe they just didn't understand?"
For example: "Did you properly explain that the reason you don't do hugs is because of your autism?" or "Maybe they don't really understand how bad fibro fatigue is and that's why they got upset at you for concelling plans."
I hate these kind of responses. They give me the same vibe as being asked, "Yeah, but what were you wearing when you got catcalled?" They put the responsability for the problem onto the person who was discriminated against, instead of the one doing the discriminating. Disabled people should not be expected to go through grueling explanations or justify their needs before those needs are respected.
realizing i could never perform transsexuality in a satisfying way to the cis consciousness nor could i ever be the right kind of transgender to be accepted and freeing myself from that allowed me to exist in my gender in a way that satisfies me and makes me feel good. you will never win. there is no good or acceptable transsexual. free yourself from the concept that you can win and have fun in your body
your grandfather is still going to misgender you and men are still going to hate you regardless of whether or not you wear eye makeup whether or not you pass. stop amputating yourself in hopes of a gold star for bleeding right

he did say he'd protect him no matter what
part of being an adult is figuring out what eveyone else's definition of "going crazy" is. to you it is not sleeping for 60 hours, writing 80k words in one sitting and expiriencing enough anxiety to kill a horse. to beth from accounting its buying a ticket to Columbus, Ohio. and to your friend its consuming so much ketamine you lose all of your posessions and wake up with five broken bones in a ditch somewhere and then proceeding to do it again the next day. to your other friend its writing a letter to their favourite actress about how much they appreciate her work. to your neighbour its laughing loudly in a grocery store whilst in pajamas. maya from uni hears the voice of her dead father making jokes with no punchlines and she considers that to be quite normal - to her going crazy would be hearing her husband instead. your downstairs neighbour will take night walks naked sometimes and claim there is nothing weird about him. there are literally no rules to life and all meaning is in the eye of the beholder.
Watching Cloudward Ho (finally) and just had a moment of actual breathlessness at how beautiful Lou Wilson is. He has the most gentle, sweet, serene smile as Brennan describes the whale approaching Monty and like…yeah i don’t have words he’s just incredibly beautiful
i love this guy

Honestly my ideal Minecraft base that I always find the most fun to work on is an increasingly complex series of rooms and tunnels carved into the side of a hill.
Hobbit living with a mine in your basement and a garden out front really is ideal
