i have wild sentences roaming through me at all times
being a system & not being the original is like. i donβt know you. i remember being you. youβre in my head and youβre like a little sibling to me. iβm still grieving over you. i know your favorite color and i still list it as one of mine. weβre the same person. no weβre not, iβm completely different. your experiences were mine but i could never expect you to face the world i do. please come back. please never front. i miss you. i donβt like thinking about you. i got your favorite cereal today. iβm sorry
I, a hearing person who likes subtitles just as a preference, shouldn't have to read a subtitle that's obvious nonsense, go back a couple seconds, and listen again in order to figure out what's going on. An accessibility feature should not be the most half-assed part of a professionally made production. Scripted media has absolutely no excuse for not having subtitles or having subtitles that aren't perfectly verbatim. Professional captioning services should be ashamed of the shoddy work that they put out. Captions should be treated as a part of the production, just like filming, editing, audio balancing, etc - and anything that releases with missing or bad captions should be seen as unfinished

When the pairing is so good that it doesnβt matter if you see it as romantic or platonic. What matters is that you see them and know that one is not complete without the other. Frequently bought together. Do not separate. If you separate them one of them will bite you

can we go back to acknowledging that ignoring someoneβs chosen pronouns is always misgendering, even when youβre using neutral ones instead
tumblring for these 6 people always in my notifications

the og star wars trilogy really said, here is a villain. it's ok, you can hate him. you can root for his downfall. he is ruthless and evil. he's killed countless people. he killed our hero's mentor. he chokes people to death, even his own officers.
oh, and also, he's our hero's father.
suddenly everything is flipped on its head. yeah darth vader is still the villain, but now he's luke's family, his blood relative, the long-dead father he used to beg his uncle for stories about. despite all we have seen, luke is certain there is good in him.
and luke is proven to be right.
star wars said here is a villain, and he is a man, and he has done terrible things, and he continues to do terrible things, and he still has good in him, and he is still worth redeeming, and all of those things can be true.
I donβt know what headmate, alter, or part needs to hear this, but having skills transfer over from one system member to another is not a sign youβre faking
Itβs okay if your art styles are the same, or your handwriting, or your speech patterns, or your system has some unique skill that youβve never learned but you still know how to do. Thatβs normal. When you share a brain with others thereβs bound to be some things that you all share. Thatβs ok.
Youβre not faking, I promise

your strengths are harder to see than your weaknesses because the problems you're good at solving don't appear as problems, because you're so good at handling them before they become problems... unlike the relatively rare problem that becomes a crisis, which demands undue attention. it's sort of like a reverse survivorship bias. the problems that become noticed as problems, the moments where you notice your capacity has a gap, are only the ones that aren't cut off at the pass by your strength and capability, before they become problems. so if all you focus on is problems then all you'll see is your weaknesses. which isn't accurate

One of my favorite little bits in Hadestown is when Hades sings, "and I could use a canary" in "Hey, Little Songbird", because he sings it to Eurydice, but the thing is, female canaries don't really sing. They chirp and whistle, but its the male canaries that sing more elaborate melodies. So then, in "Way Down Hadestown Reprise" and "Flowers", when she's down in the mine, no one is listening to Eurydice (the female canary, down in the mine), but once Orpheus comes- Orpheus, who's gifted, who's touched by the gods themselves, who's a male canary in a mine- people hear and listen to him.
When you tell someone about being mistreated because of your disability, there is a common response that goes something along the lines of, "But did you explain to them properly why you can't do x thing?" "Did you make sure they understood why you need x accomodation?" "Maybe they just didn't understand?"
For example: "Did you properly explain that the reason you don't do hugs is because of your autism?" or "Maybe they don't really understand how bad fibro fatigue is and that's why they got upset at you for concelling plans."
I hate these kind of responses. They give me the same vibe as being asked, "Yeah, but what were you wearing when you got catcalled?" They put the responsability for the problem onto the person who was discriminated against, instead of the one doing the discriminating. Disabled people should not be expected to go through grueling explanations or justify their needs before those needs are respected.
