today i learned that the finnish word for ‘hazardous waste’ is ongelmajäte, which can also translate as ‘problematic garbage’ and my roommate and i immediately agreed this is a word that belongs on tumblr.

I actually love Shane being shit with kids. I think he’s fine with babies because they don’t talk back and ask questions he doesn’t know how to answer in a Normal Human way but the second you put a 5 year old in front of him and they say something weird he’s like ‘oh…… okay. Nice’ and god forbid the kid starts crying

This is 100% true of show!Shane (dunnoh about book!Shane still haven't read TLG). I think he'd be at least reluctant or skittish at the idea of having children for that reason as well. He doesn't dislike kids, but he just *cannot* relate to that toddler to middle school age range where they just operate on a different plane of existence as adults, not in the way we see Ilya being able to.
