Thought: I do NOT think that 50% of the world’s billionaires should be women. I think there shouldn’t be any billionaires at all.

So you are saying 0% of the world should be billionaires?

Why shouldn’t their be billionaires? That makes no sense.

The problem with this is that it reduces the incentive to actually do fiscally well. What’s the point of starting a business if you can’t become wealthy?

There is a very real difference between “reasonably wealthy” and A BILLIONAIRE

No one is saying you shouldn’t have a nice house, we are saying that having multiple really, really ridiculously nice houses while your employees are either homeless or at serious risk of becoming homeless is immoral.

I’ll never understand why this concept is hard for people. I think it’s because they can’t actually fathom how much $1 Billion is.

If you were making, for the sake of argument, $25 million a year, you could live a life of extreme luxury. Even then, it would take you forty years of spending none of that money to amass a single billion. There are multi-billionaires out there. No one needs that kind of money.

Currency came into existence to simplify trade. It was meant to make things easier and better for society. When a single person has more than they need, even more than they would need for an extravagant lifestyle, they’d completely unreasonable. Money isn’t meant to be hoarded for status. I honestly think billionaires are addicted to money.

I’m reasonably certain none of them understand that.

So if I create the cure for cancer and AIDS, not a treatment but cure, I shouldn’t be able to sell it for a billion dollars OP?  What if I won’t give you my intellectual and private property for less? Are you going to use force to take it or are you going to keep letting people die?  Your choice.  I have years of my time, research and development, my innovation and my individual skills into it.

Sick people hostage?  Who is saying that?  I’m offering to sell it.  A LOT of it.  YOU’RE the one saying I should have my money taken away when I hit a cap.  Why should I continue selling when I hit that cap?  Why, when I hit 900 million, should I sell 1 more vial of my treatment and save another life if the government, which is offering me nothing additional for seizing 100% of my money, is going to take it? And I’m noticing you’re dodging my question.  Are you willing to take my product, my cure, by force?

Yes.  Why should I continue, at my cost, a product that I produce and I invented, if the government is going to seize the benefits of my labor? Why?

Let’s just say that he does give his cure for free. It’s naive to believe that someone else wouldn’t take the opportunity to exploit what was already a very profitable resource. Yes, it’s now been made “free” to the public but that doesn’t mean everyone has access to it. There’s nothing to stop suppliers from setting up an area that restricts demographic groups, or those that don’t fit their ideals.

I love being in college because there are no actual adults around so everyone is just going around bullshitting their way through basic tasks. Like I can be like “I think I got better from my cold because I ate an orange yesterday” and everyone is like “Yeah makes sense” and somebody could just be like “I’m gonna put my pillow in the washing machine to clean it” and everyone’s like “Sounds like a great idea John”
