Au where Diabolico never shows up & Carter gets trapped in the shadow world for around 5,000 years. He has to physically survive & go on the run while in the shadow world. When the 5,001 year mark hits, something opens the tomb and the demons escape into an long abandoned & destroyed Mariner Bay. Carter, for the first time in years, sees the sky again. But he realizes that his work isn't over. Not only are the demons back, but his home has been destroyed. He needs to seal the demons away again and find out what happened to the city. And he just has to hope that it was only ONE city.

Back a little less than 5,000 years in the past, the year is 2026. The morphing masters have collected a group of experienced Rangers. Their goal? Stop the world from ending. Except, to the confusion of the Rangers, the Morphin’ Masters say they have one more person to pick up. Except they have to travel to the year 7001, 4975 years into the future. The Rangers only have one question. There was a team of Rangers that had the misfortune of being forgotten by time? Oh, and also… why does time travel have to be so messy?

"Grace, you'll be in very cool company," Ilyukhina quips, gesturing between herself and Yao.

"Do you think I kept you on this project so long because I needed a junior high school teacher around?"

Stratt's words are cold, sharp as glass. They cut through the room, hush falling in their wake.

"You know the setlist. You know the timing for every costume change. You've been around for every major meeting and discussion about the future of this group- I made sure of it. You had the face we need, so I made damn sure you had the knowledge we need. God knows I didn't want it to come to this, but here we are. You've been the understudy all along."

Okay, so in addition to the initial "We take an astronaut, drug him, give him amnesia, and force him to be a school teacher" idea, I ALSO have a different one.

Except the team he's on all get injured or smth and he has to team up with an alien, who is somehow on earth and it gets very confusing, to make a two man team who has to win or else the team gets disbanded and the world ends or smth. Idfk

What if - hear me out - Mark is one of Grace's middle school students?

Imagine, you're getting saved from a Martian hellscape by a mysterious ship, but you're not picky because you're getting saved from aforementioned Martian Hellscape. And then the mystery-astronaut removes his helmet and you're staring at your long-lost, supposed-to-be-dead, slightly malnourished, younger than he should be because of time-dilation, middle school teacher who disappeared one day to save the world and single-handedly inspired you to become an astronaut.

And also, he has an alien best friend in his spaceship.

The students ABSOLUTELY gave him a nickname. If you are a well-liked teacher in a middle school, the students are giving you a dumb fucking nickname (I would come up with some examples, but the nicknames are 1. Never logical and 2. Almost never that related to your actual name. So I could say they called him Professor Tuna and yall would just have to believe me on this one)

Additionally: if PHM takes place in the semi-present, a student DEFINITELY made one of those pink flags with Grace's face on it.

I am absolutely sure Grace would be the kind of teacher who had classroom memes--ones that only the students in his class would know, and would confuse the other teachers in the building and annoy the students who hadn't had him in class yet

However I can also see Grace being the kind of teacher who demands to be in on the gossip whenever he overhears it, and gives the kids sappy advice to get them to make up with their friends

As a young, single, childless teacher, he definitely got volun-told to chaperone all of the dances and events throughout the year. I am sure he would come dressed in something (appropriate, gotta keep that job) but also a little silly to make the kids cringe on purpose

He probably had a line form at the end of every school year of students waiting to have him sign their yearbook. It probably only ever became a line because he would write a personalized message to each kid.

Grace was probably the kind of teacher who made sitting through staff meetings bearable OR the one who always made the staff meetings go over time with all of his questions

I fully believe Grace did a Transition to Teaching program after being laughed out of academia for his dissertation, so I can just imagine him as a first year teacher being like "....a 5-0-what? What is a TOR?" (cut to frantically making flash cards to keep track of all the new terms)
