Here is my DC OC - Priscilla Leto AKA Twilight Mystress with her real surname being Constantine

She is the main protagonist of my DC AU fic where, five months prior to the main story, there is an supernatural pandemic around the world where there is a sudden increase of supernatural cases all over the world. Gotham got one of the cities that got hit the hardest because of the rampant corruption going on.

Priscilla is the adopted daughter and apprentice of John Constantine, and student of Zatanna Zatara. At first, she can be a shy and quiet young woman who is trying to warm up to people. The quickest way to get her to warm up is talking about books, where her real personality shines where she’s a cheerful, kind and optimistic young woman who would immediately yap about books like a bookworm, though she does try to restrain herself during her day job as a librarian to avoid annoying readers.

Priscilla is a naturally a very curious woman, so she often reads anything she can find or looking around… even if it’s something she shouldn’t do and put herself and others in danger which John have to restrain her ever since she’s a little girl who asks way too many questions about everything. Yet, her curiosity gets the best out of her regardless if it’s dangerous. It’s her fatal flaw.

As Twilight, she puts on a facade where she comes off as overdramatic, a bit vain and filled with bravado so she would often introduce herself as Zatanna’s greatest student… even though she’s the only one technically. The reason she does this is because she’s a scardy cat despite surviving horrors since she was a child, so she puts on a brave face as a way to boost her confidence and hide her fear at the same time. Even though she’s a bad liar because she is a sincere person who could barely lie to save her life, she is an excellent bluffer to make up for that weakness. She does drop the act if things gotten somber or she got so scared that she couldn’t keep up the act anymore to hide her fear.

While she is an extremely kind and patient woman who became an occult investigator at night to help people suffering from supernatural issues, even if they’re infamous villains as she remains pleasant to everyone though she is very strict with her principles where she will intervene with their plans if innocent citizens are gonna get hurt, and fully capable of getting annoyed though she will generally try to hide it, which sometimes fails.

The only reason she’s not killed for that is because she’s an unsustainable businesswoman who initially only charges twenty dollars to everyone (except kids and homeless people) even if they’re rich as hell. She even forgets to take their invoices sometimes thus she’s only spared and barely tolerated by a few in Gotham underground because she’s the cheapest occult specialist in the city especially compared to other specialties that normally charges thousands. Her roommates who became her colleagues in her occult business have to intervene when they eventually join her.

Though, if you actually managed to piss her off, she can become quite petty just like her old man where she would look for the most inconvenient curse just to ruin your day as payback, or creatively insult you thanks to being raised in Liverpool most of her life and the fact she’s a huge bookworm who favours classical literature.

Priscilla also has strange quirks that makes no biological sense to a normal human and magi-homo besides her magic limbs such as the fact her recovery is more than half the human recovery such as if she breaks her arm, she’ll recover completely in just one month instead of 3-6 months generally though it often leads to her becoming extremely hungry which she already ate enough for three people normally. She also can’t lose or gain weight, it stays consistently the same always, and the fact she very rarely gets sick with the same illness more than twice at most generally.

Though, because of her massive appetite and healing factor plus using magic does eventually tires her out if she used too much, she does suffer from severe energy crashes if she doesn’t eat for too long, and for some reason, she’s very difficult to sedate for long which is an medical issue along with fact, while she has really high magic senses so she can detect magic attacks, physical attacks can catch her off guard.

Powers

As for her magic, she is a jack of all trades but master of none where she can do basic healing, curses and such but in her base form, if she tried to do something advanced - 95% of the time, it blows up in her face or she loses control. Thus, why she generally specialised in familiars where they help her stabilised certain attributes to make it easier for her to use stronger spells without risk.

Each comes with different strengths and weaknesses that affects her in combat, though she can’t switch around Willy nilly - she has a 30 minutes cooldown before she could switch to a different familiar. If she tries to switch before the cooldown, her body suddenly goes numb and painful where her hands becomes shaky and she loses any feeling in her legs which causes her to walk funny which is very bad for combat.

At the start of the story, she only has two familiars which are the first two in the list. The others she obtains later in the story though the last one is a special case:

Wind - Nimbus who is an owl spirit that helps boosts her healing and wind spells along with allowing her access to levitate temporarily though at the cost of her losing access to using Earth magic and becoming defensively weaker. Her other elements gets a bit weaker too except ice spells that gets a small boost.

Fire - Poppy, the hellhound who is actually her very first familiar. She boosts her fire spells massively and offensive spells including a little effect where the closer you are to her attacks, it will hurt so much, but if you are further, it wouldn’t hurt as much strangely enough. In that form, she uses short range spells, though at the cost that her longer ranged ones are weaker, she lose access to ice spells and, like Nimbus, her other elements gets a bit weaker except Light spells which gets a small boost.

Ice - Stringer the Jellyfish familiar that boosts her ice spells massively and specialised in long range attacks along with crowd controlling. Though, her spells are weaker close ranged and hits more painfully at a distance. She lose access to fire spells completely and her wind spells do get a small boost.

Electric - Viper the Demon snake that boosts her electric spells and curses along with traps. She loses access to wind spells, while give a slight boost to fire spells and speed

Earth - Lancelot the golem knight that boosts her defensive and Earth spells. She loses access to Light spells, her supportive spells became weaker and becomes slower in movement, though she does become more physically durable though not invincible obviously. Her ice spells gets a small boost

Light - Nova the glowing cat that allows her access to buffs and light spells. Though, at the cost of her offensive spells getting a bit weaker, and losing access to Earth spells, though her fire spells does get a boost. Nova also has a unique ability to calm people down when she’s close to people, thus making her excellent at calming citizens down

Darkness - Ragnarok the Butterfly dragon. Practically her nuke and last resort if things goes so horribly bad that she has to summon him. Though, the worst part is that he is completely uncontrollable and would wreck everything, thus why Priscilla avoids summoning him at all cost, especially as he blocks out all of her elements except dark spells. He is actually her third familiar she accidentally summoned which lead to an massive accident that Zatanna have to intervene which they barely survived and since then, Priscilla never wanted to summon him unless she really, really had to.

History (Non-Spoiler version)

As for a bit of her backstory, she had amnesia since she was five years old where she was mysteriously placed in front of the House of Mystery, which John had no choice but to take her in cuz of her magic limbs and purple eyes. She started out very quiet to the point John mistakenly believed she’s mute so he just named her Priscilla and struggling massively to care for a little seemingly traumatised little girl till Zatanna came to visit for a case and meets her leading to her in shock that John, of all people, took in a little girl.

After the shock, Zatanna tried to help by showing her magic for the first time by taking a bunny out from her hat, which caused her to finally begin talking and asking a million questions about how she did it which shocks her and John that she just talked. Ever since, Priscilla and Zatanna bonded during her recovery and once Pris is more mentally stable at 7 years old, Zatanna took her as a student to help her learn magic due to the fact Priscilla genuinely loves magic even as she grew up as an adult.
