Every post about hating ads frames it like Google invented advertising in 2010. And like half the time it’s written by someone who should definitely remember the 90s better than I do

Even like. Print media? I don’t think Hi-Lights and American Girl magazine (which we paid for!) were telling me about new books and toys out of the goodness of their heart. And a lot books would include entire sections on new books you should buy, a trend I’ve actually been seeing *less* of in published books! We did not previously live in some ad-free utopia you were just six

i always see people hyping up kingdom hearts as a Developed Story with Mature Themes that can still Resonate with Adults and then when i look into what actually happens in kingdom hearts its like. Mickey Mouse and Minka have just saved Toy Story World from the dastardly Ricky with his key sword. and then Ursula amd Jafar show up because dollar store sephiroph saw children having fun. and also Goofy and Donald Duck are there
