i feel like the two of them would just trauma dump before saying anything like this, concerning everyone around them. no neither are okay, but thanks for asking! one appreciates it; the other doesn’t. because he’s a grumpy old man

hello everyone, this is going to be used an archive spot for all the post relating to sam and johnny’s dynamic. mainly for the headcanons i have for them, and there will be “anthony and johnny” as well as many others later on. hope you enjoy clicking through favorites! :)

from the time he was a toddler, he remembers so much crying from both him and his mother. there would be times that none of the two slept at night, due to his father’s outbursts.

the thing he doesn’t remember is how he left with his mother y abuela to get to the states. it was really dark by the time they made it to California. they barely spoke a word of English to people who helped them.

their new neighbors offered to help with learning how to write and speak. that helped her get her first job at the hospital as the janitor. for the first couple nights his mother had been working, he had been handed off to them.

she would get home so late. she would be sure to tuck him in before going to help abuela with her medicine and bath time.

one time he saw that other kids were playing games, he wanted to play too. some of them thought that he didn’t have any parents and definitely teased him about it. he would cry to abuela, which she scolded them for being mean to him.

once his mother got promoted from being the janitor to being food service, her hours were better. he got to see her more often before work. she started taking him to school in the mornings in the days that she could.

he had met demetri and eli around the third grade when being put into their class, all three of them were pretty shy when they first saw one another. it was demetri who offered to introduce himself first.

neither of the two had judged miguel for his living arrangements. demetri said that he can ask his mom if she could recommend miguel’s mom in a better position.

he didn’t know what that meant, so when coming home he saw his mother at their table. she was holding a sheet of paper in her hands, it was for an evening school program to get her GED. neither of them knew what that fully meant at the time.

seeing her go from work to school and being so exhausted made him so worried for her, but she told him she was okay. she completed going to school for the GED and asked HR on what to do next if she wanted to continue to up the chain.

they gave her steps on what she should do, and how to complete them. by the time he was in middle school, she was a student technologist.

she was really excited for all this change. he was also pretty excited if it meant that he got to see his mother more.

during middle school, he wanted to do some community work to help with some of the expenses of the apartment. it wasn’t cheap maintaining three people all by yourself.

he joined a sports team that does community work, and asked if they were willing to pay him for his efforts he put in. some of the places were; others were not, which was fine. he started putting the money in a jar and waited to give it to her for her birthday.

once starting his freshman year of high school, he went to the dean’s office to see something about a work permit. it was mainly so he could work without it interfering with his education, health, or safety.

i wish my old high school still did these, but they took them away my sophomore year (2021) — not me giving away my age lol, but who cares. i think it was pointless of them taking them away in my humble opinion, as they’re very crucial for children working.
