DELTARUNE IN 2 FUCKING WEEKS?????
Frankly, I don't buy the theory that the repeated sweeping deletions of trans women's blogs have principally been the product of bad-faith mass reporting campaigns abusing automated moderation. I've been falsely mass-reported before, on multiple occasions, and nothing's ever come of it. Someone is pulling that trigger.
I have a half-formed worldbuilding idea in my head where a colonial empire has two seasons: Oystersgood and Oystersbad.
Oystersbad is the spawning season, which makes oysters taste watery and bitter until the spawning season ends, marking the beginning of Oystersgood. This was the most important way to delineate time for the Empire, and when they spread their influence across the globe they brought the gospel that the year is split into two seasons. And even though the Empire has stretched its claws into landlocked deserts and frozen mountains and distant lands where nobody has even seen an oyster, everybody knows that the year has two seasons based on whether or not fresh oysters taste good.
Everybody in charge, anyways.
what doesn't kill you is probably in love with you instead and you should try flirting with it dude trust me. what's the worst that could happen. we've already established it won't kill you

Daily reminder to Americans on this website that American war on Iran is bad because Iranians are getting killed not because you can no longer afford going to the movies in the weekends or refill your car 😒
Y'know what, this reminder also includes non-Americans. Let's watch our words and keep the victims of American aggressions in our heart always

"Hello, my name is Plover, and I am 120% legs. How are you?"
“Cant talk, gotta go plover there” *runs away with my long as fuck legs*
words of affirmation i repeat on the daily
it is actually fascinating to me to see the exact same people who vitriolically hate ai for copyright infringement defending the internet archive.
don't get me wrong, i love the internet archive, but like. i thought you guys were mad that you thought ai had works in a database without the author's approval. what do you think the internet archive is.
Yea, you don't want a world where copyright laws has the power to kill GenAI. Trust me.
As an author? There's a huge difference between 'This work has been put into an archive so that people can access it now and in perpetuity' and 'This work has been stolen and put into a data set so that it can be used to generate AI slop for profit'
If you do not comprehend the difference between these things, I have to presume that you've never created anything, ever.
it is actually fascinating to me to see the exact same people who vitriolically hate [bad thing that hurts people for profit] defending [good thing that helps people for free].
Not that I think all marriages are doomed but when deciding who to marry you should ask yourself “is this someone I’d want to divorce?” As in, is this someone I believe would be mature and fair, even when they’re upset and don’t particularly like me at the moment. Is this someone I could continue to trust while going through an adversarial process? And if the answer is no, don’t marry them.

Btw it is very important that you talk to gay people off of tumblr if you can
Queer people on tumblr: other people in this "community" are the oppressor actually
Queer people in real life: hey do you want to come on a hike next week
Learning this was an intentional genocide changed me.
I know most of those following me know this, but just to make it super clear. An Gorta Mór (The Great Hunger/the Great Famine) was a deliberate genocide of the Irish people. There was enough food grown in Ireland to make sure everyone was alive and healthy and survived. Instead it was exported, sent to England and elsewhere for profit while men, women, and children starved in the streets. While the English landlords fucked off and evicted starving families who couldn’t afford rent. While babies were too weak to cry and died at the side of the road.
They tried to kill us, but they did not succeed. And we owe so much thanks to the other oppressed peoples, in particular the Choctaw Nation and the Masai, who sent money and grain to us.
Let me repeat that. The Choctaw Nation who had just gone through the Trail of Tears sent us money to try save Irish lives. It’s led to an understanding between Irish people and Native American tribes, most recently when we donated to the Navajo and Hopi fundraisers for COVID-19 relief, because while it may be a different tribe, Irish people will never forget those who helped us and we’ll help back.
The entire population of the island is less than seven million people. We’re still a million less on this island than pre famine. And it’s not that long ago. My grandmother’s grandparents lived through it. We’ve told the stories, it literally changed the DNA of the country. We have a national fear of renting, because so many people were evicted. People joke about Irish people always offering loads of food, but it’s because there’s that cultural memory of not being able to.
They tried to kill us, but they did not succeed. We will not let them take our lives, we will not let them take our language. We lost so much, but we will not lose it all.
This is why I get so angry when people say “it was the potato famine, it was because of monoculture/microbes.”
Nope. The potatoes were the only thing Irish people were allowed to fucking eat, because as pointed out, the rest of the crops they were growing were for their landlords to ship to England. So when the one “worthless” crop they were allowed to eat rotted in the field, the English crown, empire, landlords, all shrugged and carried on. People starved to death lying next to productive fields.
Had a nightmare where Caine talked like ChatGPT. It was so terrifying that I woke up crying and panicking and started stabbing random people on the street.
I also like Gangle, she's cute.
This is GAY PRIDE Kirby! Reblog for 20 Years of good luck!
you know when you get Autism Mad. like something happens in a non-ideal way and in your brain you know it literally doesnt matter but in your other more autistic brain youre like screaming & scrying & shitting the bed etc. i think you should be able to go into settings and opt out of that. i have better things to get upset about than failing to put up a decoration on the optimal day or being too stubborn to solve a problem via simple communication

"male socialization" has become such a great cudgel against trans women because it's the perfect way to launder all your bioessentialist misogyny under the guise of social critique
like, oh that woman is acting "male" by standing up for herself or others? and you're denigrating her about it because you're..... not a misogynist?
you can just kind of gesture at socialization theory and everyone autofills it with their bioessentialist assumptions
like, it doesn't particularly matter what mechanisms of socialization you think are the root cause of her behaviors, and it really doesn't matter what her upbringing actually looked like or where she's at in unpacking how it affected her
you don't need to understand or engage with socialization theory at all, you can just slap the label of it over your bioessentialism and bam! you sound progressive without needing to let go of your conservative views, and everyone will go along with it
"male socialization" "female socialization" as if most trans kids aren't recognized as Deviant very early on, degendered, malgendered, and abused for it.
otherwise interesting post ruined by the bold insistence that you can never accidentally abuse someone & that all abusive people are self-aware evil masterminds
I don't think my parents are aware that what they did was abuse. in fact I think one of the reasons they abused me was because they lacked the self-awareness, introspection, and education needed to realize what they were doing counted as abuse. if they did have more self awareness &etc, they would have likely stopped. it is not productive to insist they woke up in the mornings with the intent to psychologically torture a kid for no reason, when that is self-evidently not the case or within their motivations.
I'm speaking annecdotally here but I think many cases of abuse are like this. I think when reckoning with the reality of how abuse functions in our society, you must come to terms with the mundanity of it including the fact that abusive people are primed to overlook the harm of their own actions through the shield of mundanity and (lack of) intent.
