the crazy thing about this is that it took one single word to turn it horny. coulda been a normal cute post. coulda taken the high road & conjured a delightful image of a mouse scampering down the bar with a beer ten times its size balanced on its head. but you had to say "mousegirl" and not "mouse." don't pretend this isn't what's going on either i know the score i know what's up. i'm familiar with this sort of semantic trick. you want to fuck down on an anime girl with certain characteristics of a rodent and everyone's gotta know.

So this reminded me that I really need Tumblr to know about how my high school used this song in 2015 as criminal warfare to extort donations out of us during lunch for nearly a month. The student council was doing a drive to help a disabled student afford an expensive surgery that was, apparently, only available in the USA (I'm from Canada). Very noble and understandable cause. Sure, okay. So they decided that their tactic to raise these donations would be a "Pay to stop" campaign. Basically, what they did was play what does the fox say for our entire 60 minute lunch break through the PA system in the school. Repeatedly. In the middle of the Canadian winter when most people didn't want to go outside. It worked brutally well. People were thoroughly annoyed. Everyone was paying to make the song stop. So much so that they had raised the cost, which I think was a pretty hefty $6k or $8k, from teenagers by week 2 and a half. Glorious glorious relief, we thought, when they finally announced in the morning that they had raised the funds needed for our beloved student. But alas, no. No. NO. The student council decided it wasn't enough. The song continued to play at lunch, and they continued to attempt to raise more donations. Whether for the initial students costs or student council's funds + other events, I was never sure. Like all terrible charities engaging in false advertising they were... shady. So, what does the fox say continued for several more days. The only escape was the blistering cold. Luckily, there was a Tim Horton's not too far - not terrible. But still, upon leaving and re-entering for classes. What does the fox say. What does the fox say. What does the fox say. By week three I was sitting by my locker shaking, angry and frustrated that my money had not in fact paid to stop the song. Absurdity, I thought. There was no way this was legal, no way this wasn't some kind of insane torture activity. Others agreed. Eventually, we succeeded in convincing them that enough was enough - we had paid for what was asked and this was just disrespectful to the people who donated. Thank the gods. Thank the foxes, for whatever they said, I suppose... Don't try this at home, or do because it was clearly an excellent way to make money. Anyways I can't listen to this song without feeling physically ill now.
