He’s twisted off of the undersea gal from Nightmare Before Christmas!

He’s an Anglerfish Gillman — a type of merperson who has physical adaptions to withstand the dark and high-pressure environment of the deep sea. They drastically differ from merpeople of lower pressure environments, and are unable to survive in any environment other than their own without an enchanted sigil that is tattooed onto their body. Yet due to the scarcity of mages in the Deep Sea who can preform this ritual, a lottery is hosted every few years that select a very small amount of gillmen. The winners of the lottery are permitted to receive the tattoo and leave.

Fish was among one of these winners… a stroke of bad luck in his eyes, as he never signed up for the lottery. But this was an opportunity given to him by his mother in hopes that he’d flourish and reach greater heights. So despite his reservations, Fish does his very best to make the most of it… even if every other day he’s wishing to go home and be with his mama in her final few years.
