I frequently collaborate with @/Cozymochi so that's while you'll see her on this blog a lot and vice versa. Some of Cozy's ocs are a collaborative effort but please think of me as their godmother!

Lots of wine is drunk during the celebration by adults and when they clank glasses they say skumps (ref to Stefan and Hubert and the minstrel guy getting smashed)

People leave offerings to statues of the Pure Princess as gifts and write wishes on pieces of paper they stick near them ( ♪ Joyfully now to our princess, We come, bringing gifts and all good wishes, too.)

A song from the princess's very first birthday is still sung today (Hail to the Princess!) and another song about her curse is sung too (When you awaken to love's first kiss/Till then, Sleeping Beauty, sleep on)

Gorgeously decorated storybooks are sold at this time of year depicting the Pure Princess's story (ref to the actual book the movie opens on)

There are fireworks (reference to the fireworks that were lit as the fairies put Aurora to bed)

There are lots of treats made from the princess's favorite berries (the berries the fairies had her pick)

There's a parade mimicking the procession held on the princess's very first birthday (Hail to the Princess again)

The festival has souvenirs like tiaras that kids wear to pretend to be the princess, some even come with hair extensions attached that mimic her curls (ref to ofc Aurora's tiara and sunshine gold hair)(Silver def buys one for Lilia)

It's said that people were so excited about the princess's return that they partied too much and ended up falling asleep during the festivities (ref to the fairies putting everyone to sleep)

And as a gag: The festival serves massive chicken legs because the princess herself had raised giant ones to feed her family and in laws for a banquet (a ref to that one (and only) straight to video sequel)

These are all real references and homages that the actual game would make, and I DO know the princess special you’re referencing too (funnily enough, the Keys to the Kingdom Aurora reminds me of Pip a lot personality wise too, very silly)

I’m really happy you helped me build this world and for something I really did want to write but had to think of how (originally it was going to be some non-descriptive winter one, but this is SO much better)

The festival coincides with New Dawn Day, the birthday of the Pure Princess/Aurora, celebrating both her birth and her return to the kingdom after surviving her curse. The holiday lasts for 2 days cuz it's claimed that people celebrated her return much longer and people wear pink, blue, or even both on the day because of stories about how her dress was constantly changing colors as she danced.

Just an idea I came up with and wanted to tell you about

Anon, this is this best idea for a festival I've ever heard. CAN I PLEASE USE THIS!!!!

I like how it's such a fun and thoughtful reference to the climax of Sleeping Beauty and Aurora, that seems exactly like something humans would celebrate, and such a perfect event to include Silver in 🥺
