Im Teddy, 25 year old black disabled queer nonbinary. I have spent the last 6 months taking care of my grandmother with dementia and it has taken a toll on me. It happened at a time where I had to take a medical leave from work due to struggling to complete work tasks and my fibromyalgia symptoms getting really bad. I extended my medical leave to take care of my grandmother. The stress of it all worsened my fibromyalgia and depression. In the quest to understand why i struggle to work properly, hold down a job, study and get a diploma. After many appointments and assessment, I have been diagnosed with ADHD and C-PTSD. Finally figuring out what was wrong with me, made me feel like i finally had a fighting chance at life. I can now seek help, support and treatment. Being prescribed stumulants has changed my life. I can set goals and complete them. I no longer feel the crippling fatigue that always dragged me down. I am currently seeking CBT. I have decided to go back to school so I can finally start a career and do something with my life.

In order make sure that I can succeed, I need to move out of my grandmother's place. I am unable to relax. I am constantly alert and on edge. I am unable to sleep enough to recover and have enough energy to take care of my grandmother and of myself. If I want to heal myself and succeed academically, I must be able to solely focus on myself without other distractions or responsibilities. My grandmother will be fine without me because the rest of my family will take care of her. She encouraged me to go forward with my plans when I told her about them and said that she doesnt want me to continue taking care of her at the expense of my future. She wants me to hold a diploma and have a stable source of income.

My gf wants to move out of her current place and wants me to tag along. She will be able to cover most expenses so I just have to contribute what I can. Moving out will also help me with my mobility. I will be able to live closer to my college so I won't have to walk too much as a cane user.

As written in the title, I am nonbinary and would like to start HRT. Ive been trying to do it for the last three years but the waitlists in my city are extremely long or they closed them. I cannot stand to wait any longer to finally feel at home in my body so I have decided to go to a private clinic. The appointments for assessment and prescribing HRT cost around 400$. After that, I will be able to go to my primary caregiver for follow-ups.

The money donated will help me cover my part of the expenses and rent during the time that I am in school (14 months) and it will help me finally access HRT. Thank you for your help. I will forever be grateful 🙏🏾
