The thing about Miss Piggy is that she kind of has a Roger Rabbit comedy superpower where she wins nearly any conceivable fight she's in. But unlike other characters of which that's true, like say, Bugs Bunny, who tend to win because they make the opponent play the game with their rules, Miss Piggy wins because the joke is that she can beat the shit out of literally anybody.

All public universities in my country admit and reject people based on their score on a national standardized test, which features an English module that's worth 1/5 of your final score. This makes not having at least a basic level of English proficiency a major barrier for accessing higher education but yeah, I could have "just... not learned your language" I guess, yeah.

All the above, plus: I come from a language with circa 5 million speakers. Over one and a half billion people speak English. Over half of all content on the internet is in English. If I spoke just my own language, or that plus a different foreign language, that would radically restrict the amount of information available to me. A vast majority of books, both fiction and nonfiction, are simply never translated into my language. Large swaths of the internet are inaccessible if you don't speak english. These days many websites are available in other major world languages, but those available in my language are few and far between (plus they often require a some english proficiency these days, as AI "translation" is making websites less accessible by the virtue of being shit).

I think a lot of transmisogyny stems from this idea that people are really scared to see a dick. The reason bathrooms and locker rooms and hot springs keep being flash points is because these are all places where if a trans woman is using them, it's possible you might see her dick. A lot of transmisogynistic humor revolves around being traumatized because the subject saw a woman with a penis. And look, to a certain extent I sympathize. I'm not a fan of dick; I dont want this thing either. But if you want to be an ally to trans women, I think a big important step you can take personally is to examine your own reaction to the scenarios I described above, and recognize that a dick is just a body part a girl has sometimes. Seeing it as inherently sexual and/or traumatizing is a major wedge conservatives use to justify their rhetoric
