Ok, I finished Dawntrail (finally), and I know no one asked, but I put here my toughts on the expansion, since there is a lot of controversy.
First of, this is my opinion and don't reflect what everybody think about it. If you like or disliked Dawntrail, fine, cool, awesome! No one is obligated to like or dislike something. So let's go, spoilers ahead!
When Dawntrail came I was still on Shadowbringers (or maybe Endwalker), so I was already at the climax of all story. And when I saw Dawntrail trailer, I already felt off, not because I tought it would be bad, but because it gave me a new vibe. And then I finished Endwalker and tought: well, that part is over sooo... Season 2?
So yeah, Dawntrail is a Season 2 for Final Fantasy XIV. At least for me that was my sensation when I started the expansion. So I knew they would "start over", a new problem for Wol, you know?
And now I finished and I really liked it! I know why people felt it was a "weak" expansion, but I also understood why it was a little more weak. New season!
Now, for the other "problem" people seem to have: Wuk Lamat. I am sorry, but I didn't saw anything wrong if her. At the start, I said that she was like Laguna from FFVIII: and idiot with a good heart. A little coward, but even she hesitated, she would do that job. That coward part of her dissapeared with the journey, and she grow up so much and helped a lot of people, being Dawnservant with her brother, and being a good aunt with Gulol Ja. So yeah, didn't saw nothing wrong with her character.
For her other brother (don't remember his name, sorry), I saw people saying he was a real weak character. And I agree, they could put more effort on him, not just doing the "I envy my brothers, they can't be more strong than me the first promise and biological child of the Dawnservant" thing. But he was the bait for something more important, to say the least: the mention of other reflections; another calamity, this time a Lightning one, and we already saw Dark and Light (Holy), one; a mention of an Ice calamity for Krile's parents. And even Erenville said what happened to the other reflections upon Sphene interfering? And the key is with Wol, soo... We are still Azem and we made a promise to Emet.
I still didn't made the post Dawntrail stuff, but I think the stuff with the Ascians will continue, Zero will reappear, new reflections will be explored. I don't know how (my imagination is not so good), but let's have faith that everything will turn out to be really good just like Endwalker ending! And we need to keep giving them feedback. Feedback, you all! Not the hate comments that people put on Instagram and other social medias because they think x,y and z stuff are woke (I hate this word!)!
So yeah, I liked Dawntrail! Now I'll do the extra dungeons and the rest of the story, and just wait for the new expansion that I think (and remember I don't know nothing lol) they will announce in 2026. It's just a guess, but I have a good feeling about it! Anyway, remember to have fun, and if you're not having fun, drop it and do other stuff that you like! Drink water, your health come first!
