Afternoon Snack #148 of #365 for 2020. ***Mini Watermelon & Seasonal Fruit Bowls*** 🍉🍉🍉 My favorite thing about making mini watermelon & seasonal fruit bowls with the Littles is making playful bowls out of the rinds! There is nothing more that I enjoy than making a production out of our meals. This is a simple yet playful snack for your entire family. It is extremely quick and tasty for you to make. When I would eat out before I had the Littles I would always order the same item from Chili’s. I would aways order Chili’s Chicken Crispers. It will always be one of my favorite foods. 
 Now that I have a family of 5 it does not make a whole lot on sense to eat out when I can make the exact same thing at home for a fraction of the cost! Science Experiment #82 of #365 for 2020 Endothermic Reactions Here at the Cats’ N Bearz casa we do a science experiment a day!!! I am sure I probably have more fun than the Littles!!! 🥴🥴🥴 Today’s science experiment was over Endothermic Reactions. One of the kids hypothesis was that Endothermic Reaction were hot. They learned that they were incorrect... 🧐🧐🧐 We follow a STEAM approach with every science experiment. If I plan it right with this approach then I can normally attach all of our daily lesson plans to one science experiment. So, all of the lessons for the day are all connected in one way or another to some particular thing within the science experiment. I do this in order to keep the Littles engaged in their lessons; and it makes it easier for them to commit it to their memories and recall lessons, ideas, and important facts and figures. The STEAM Approach S - Science - Make this experiment with other bases and acids then record your results. Ask your kids and try to find out if all acid and base reactions endothermic. T - Technology - Create an online presentation to share with your family and friends during this time of social isolation in order to stay connected. E - Engineering - Try doing this experiment in different shapes and material types. A - Art - You can make a combination of colors that are pleasing to your eye or provide a significance to you. Brunch #77 of #365 of 2020 * Gingerbread Pancakes & Green Eggs * I hope all of ya’ll had an interesting St. Patricks Day during the quarantine! 💚💚💚 I like to experiment with recipes and meal planning combinations. I have no earthly idea what made me pick these two recipes and put them together... 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ Since Brother Bear 🧒🏽🧒🏽🧒🏽 is allergic to eggs I used a powdered egg replacer that you add water to in order to substitute for eggs. Art Tutor Tuesday #70 of #365 for 2020 I decided to cancel our private art lessons until further notice, so I will be doing throwback posts from past art lesson that I never posted. This lesson started with reviewing over the rule of thirds again. Meghan 👩🏻👩🏻👩🏻 then explained ratio’s and how they are used in art. She was explaining to Sister Bear 👧🏽👧🏽👧🏽 that when she was in art school during life drawings they would teach them to learn how to measure with their eyes. The majority of today’s lesson was about how to differentiate the shapes and shadows of real life flowers and what realism is. That led to her explaining what negative space is and why it can be a good thing in art. Next she explained what opacity is and how it works with various colors and paint types in art. How to fill in the color. Megan has also been amazing at guiding Sister Bear at learning what it means to be a business person in the art world. Today she explained how pricing works and how to develop a pricing system for yourself. Once again Brother Bear 🧒🏽🧒🏽🧒🏽 wanted to work on his Pokémon drawings. Brunch #48 of #365 for 2020 *Pancake Board* This pancake board was inspired 🥰🥰🥰 by my amazing friend K!!! A pancake board is basically a type of tray with as many pancake fixins’ as you can imagine!!! 🤤🤤🤤 There was a woman at Hobby Lobby who gave me the idea to use tile as the tray and that way I can buy as many different pieces that I want and mix and match them. She says she uses them as trays and charcuterie boards when she has guests over!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Oh, I forgot to mention I got a couple of additional pieces of tile for free since parts of them were chipped or had an edge cracked... 🔥🔥🔥 My maternal Uncle & his wife came to visit from Oklahoma and the Littles and I had a blast!!! Family Adventure #138 of #365 for 2019. If you are like me then you are always on the lookout for cheap and free things to do! Twice a month we go to our local Granary to spend time with the baby chicks... It helps to teach our Littles to be patient, kind, gentle, and how to care for a living thing that is wholly dependent on you at that exact moment! They often have a hard time leaving the Granary when it is time to go. Today's theme was watermelon because it is refreshing. I chose this since everyone has been a little under the weather and I thought refreshing watermelon family cocktail would be perfect. Their cocktail was frozen & mine was on the rocks. Sister Bear has been bummed because our local Sonic Drive In no longer carries the watermelon flavored syrup that they use to make Watermelon slushees. Science Experiment #60 of #365 for 2020 The Great Emulsifier Today’s science experiment was about molecules that were opposites and how to combine them. We used oil and water to show what happens when molecules are not attracted. Then we used other objects to check what would be an emulsifier. An emulsifier is something that allows molecules to bond that are normally not able to mix. I make an effort to do a different science experiment 7 days a week. It doesn’t always go as planned and sometimes the experiments just do NOT work out but we have made some pretty amazing memories! Before we got started I talked to the Little’s about what an emulsifier is and gave them examples. I told them that sometimes Sister Bear is an emulsifier between Josie Cat and Brother Bear. Then I asked them to tell me what that means to them.
