My parents are antivaxers

My sister and extended family are antimedicine as in ALL medications and traditional physicians.

I.e. they are all flaming idiots.

I’m so fucking tired of telling my uncle that a fucking ibuprofen won’t send you into renal failure. But guess what? I’m a woman and I know nothing and he knows a guy who’s dad’s cousin’s aunt’s neighbor died that way so I must be wrong.

These people are insane. They are putting not only their lives and the public’s at risk but what about their poor children!?

The government can’t make it mandatory because it’s encroaching on liberties and yes I see how that’s a slippery slope but the current solution of banning unvaccinated children from schools is now causing a bigger issue.

This sect is just using this as an excuse to homeschool their children. I speak from personal experience here when I say that many parents have no business being in charge of a child’s education. Education is a right not a privilege, and they are absolutely abusing the system. They do not teach these kids. Half of the children I grew up around couldn’t read and had no social skills.

Now my parents sort of went the middle route with this. Very neglectful of our social opportunities and teaching assistance but I was taking college courses in high school. Schooling year round I had triple the credits required to graduate. However I had no idea how to take standardized tests and had no help from my co-op in applying to colleges or what to do to get there. I can honestly say I taught myself everything from second grade (when I started homeschooling) until graduation. My parents weren’t there my co-op never regulated as they were legally required, the books just got thrown in my face and I got screamed out if I ever didn’t know something I was “supposed” to.
