i don't drink anymore but I've decided to drop my margaritas recipe:
1-2 fresh lemons
1-2 fresh limes
1 fresh orange (yes!)
patron (silver preferred, amber works)
grand marnier, or else cointreau (NOT any other kind of triple sec)
light corn syrup (karo is fine)
club soda (this is crucially important - NOT seltzer, NOT tonic water)
ice
if you are going to cheap out and substitute ingredients you will not be making it correctly and i will not be held responsible for your hangover
add the strained juice of all four fruits
pour a bunch of patron in there. like a lot.
add maybe 1/4 that amount of grand marnier, a few "glugs" at most
now you're gonna SQUEEZE a bunch of the corn syrup in there. at least a few tablespoons. this is the secret ingredient, don't fucking skip it
blend till blent
add ice until the blender is halfway filled
blend till crushed. you are done blending
fill the rest of the way with plain club soda (don't ruin this with some citrus flavored shit)
GENTLY STIR TOGETHER
pour and enjoy the shit out of these and get drunk way faster than you meant to
I'm gonna go get a couple margaritas and get slightly drunk!!!
And eat some yummy food! At the Chilli's...
6 Tequilas for Independence Day Cocktail Hosting
6 TEQUILAS FOR A BETTER INDEPENDENCE DAY POUR Independence Day calls for drinks that feel bright, cold, and easy to serve. Tequila is a strong choice because it stays fresh in summer heat and works well in margaritas, highballs, and simple neat pours. WHAT TO LOOK FOR - Blanco for crisp margaritas and batch cocktails - Reposado for a little oak and a smoother finish - Añejo for slower sipping after the grill cools down WHY TEQUILA WORKS SO WELL IN JULY Tequila has natural lift. That makes citrus, salt, and herbs taste cleaner. It also pairs well with barbecue food, seafood, tacos, and grilled vegetables. For hosts, that flexibility matters. One bottle can cover a full evening without feeling heavy. SMART BOTTLE CHOICES A good Independence Day lineup usually includes a mix of styles: one bottle for mixing, one for sipping, and one reserve bottle for guests who want something richer. If margaritas are on the menu, blanco is usually the easiest place to start. If the plan is a slower dinner, reposado often feels more balanced. For summer entertaining, the best tequila is the one that fits the pace of the party. Clean, versatile, and refreshing is usually the winning formula. This guide is a useful starting point if you want tequila that feels right for fireworks, backyard food, and warm-weather hosting.
Midday margaritas anyone?
