I don't know if everyone on this platform is aware, but a young woman has taken her life herself on live yesterday due to online bullying.

even simple remarks and taunts go beyond surface level twitter slander. a few words here and there on social media are enough to destroy someone entirely from inside out. I seriously need everyone to realise how deep and serious social media has gotten in our day to day lives, so much that our lives revolve completely around it. and when you use this social media platform to spread hate and hurt, you do no less than a crime. everybody on enhypen fan radar is just as accountable, you guys are horrible beings the way some people are moving recently.

this sweet sweet girl was attacked by engenes after she supposedly asked sunoo to hand sunflowers/roses (?) to niki, later, fans assumed the message niki tried to get across his live (about concert ethics) was referring to this girl and these fans blatantly started attacking her.

even during her last moments, where she was on live, the comments are so disheartening and upsetting it actually makes me sick to the stomach, some fans have lost the fucking plot. social media bullying is real and has its consequences. I hope everyone who displayed any form of unnecessary hate speech or mock towards this girl faces lashings 2x as so.

In the name of stantwt, and the enhypen fandom, people tend to forget you are not entitled to saying whatsoever just because you've got a profile picture of a kpop idol. reflect on your actions today, and choose your words wisely.

the fact that many of you get so defensive over your kpop boys and girls that you genuinely turn into a vile human being is appalling. these men don’t know you and probably, never will. it’s not worth losing your humanity over kpop.

i’d like to clarify she got hated mostly for saying riki only focuses on foreigners in a concert that was held in america, which is not a valid thing to target him over, but none of her words are an excuse to enable her to take her life.

even on live, people were encouraging and making fun of her for taking pills and drinking, there was a noose behind her and everyone choose to ignore all the flags to feel better about themselves because a person they do not like was suffering.

to everyone who contributed to the hate she got, you are responsible for this and you should take accountability. learn from this incident, be mindful of your words— there are real people behind these accounts. you don’t know what can drive them to taking the worst step. again, kpop is not worth losing your morality over.

if a space simply made for enjoying music and content is making you this toxic, you need to take a step back. please introspect and ask yourself if you would act the same way in person because sitting behind a screen does not make you immune to the consequences of your actions.

to everyone who saw that live, please take your time as it was very disturbing. talk to someone if you need to, take a break if it would make you feel better.

lastly, i want to point out that this is something where need to realise how wrong we are and take accountability. pointing fingers and shifting blame will do nothing but make this situation worse. it’s high time we accept that sometimes, we do cross our limits while trying to defend our favourites and we should always be mindful of what we say.

these accounts are PEOPLE. no matter what they get themselves into, they are PEOPLE with FEELINGS, and no amount of trouble should ever warrant a fandom bullying them into suicide.

Today is another topic I want to make relevant among the community. Today marks the day that the KOSA bill is being fucking considered. AGAIN.

What is the KOSA bill?

the KOSA bill (or KOSA act) is a bill used for online monitoring. IF passed, you would need an id for certain websites, or possibly EVERY Google search.

The government uses that as an excuse to get parents to vote yes so they imagine their younger children being safe online.

Why this would be against the amendment (1st):

The first amendment is freedom of speech

Freedom of religion

Freedom of press

Peaceful assembly

And the right to petition the government

The amendment reads:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

BUT, there is light at the end of the tunnel (aside from our shitty government going against the fucking constitution like they always do)

In order for the KOSA bill to pass, they would need two thirds of a vote. And because everyone is telling Republicans to vote no, the chances of the bill being passed are VERY slim.

Now, you might be wondering: but Bella, why is this bill so dangerous if its "helping" teens and kids?

Cons of the KOSA bill (other than it being stupid)

Many teens and children feel horrible in their living space or environment so they go online and meet inidivualds to escape their harsh reality

many young content creators would possibly need to quit due to ID verification p.s: Yes, they take a picture of your ID

LGBTQ+ teens, therians, furries, or any minority will feel closed in due to not having the freedom of the internet

and NO ONE CAN SPEAK ABOUT AMERICA ANYMORE.

but in reality if this passes the suicide rates will rise, and then the government will ask "omg what happened to all those kids?!"
