the problem with voice acting these days is that nobody sounds properly fucked up anymore. every time they need someone to play a weird guy or a creature it's just some dude with a traditional handsome guy voice gargling a little. it's like trying to use a picrew to make an old person.

This is also true of physical disabilities! You simply cannot "mind over matter" your way into being able to do what abled people can do. The only exceptions to this rule are my physical disabilities, which continue to disable me because I simply haven't locked in hard enough.

In contrast some people say "there aren't any picky eaters in Asia 🙄" but this is laughably untrue. I have a cousin in India who refused until his 20s to eat anything in a sauce. as you can imagine in India this was difficult. he basically had to pick things out of curry and wipe them dry
