I just had to explain to someone why Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space has an episode that's officially numbered as episode 16 in spite of having only 13 episodes and it occurred to me that indie animation production is goofy as hell.

Short version: Bee and Puppcat was originally a web series consisting of ten short 10-minute episodes which ran from 2014 through 2016. A follow-up series of 13 full-length episodes subtitled Lazy in Space was commissioned in 2019, but never aired. Three years later, the original ten episodes were remade as a three-episode miniseries and packaged together with with 13 episodes from 2019 as a second season; however, in spite of being included in the second season's episode numbering, the remake miniseries does not carry the Lazy in Space subtitle. Thus, considering only those episodes officially subtitled Lazy in Space, we have thirteen episodes whose official numbering starts at 4.
