Have been thinking about this lately, since I literally can't think coherent thoughts when there is a repetitive noise happening I can't get away from or block out, and I am bewildered at seeing people around me just tuning it out and merrily going about their business as if an electric drill is not being bored into their skull every few seconds.

Is there a way to fix this? I didn't bring my compass just in case I died, I have no idea how far from home I am!

I built a huge dirt pillar and from there I could see the huge dirt pillar I made at spawn. It's so weird, now I have two nether portals, and regardless of which I enter, I'm always spat out at the new one on the far side of Spawn Mountain.
