âYouâre not wrong,â she shook her head, blonde waves spilling over her shoulders at the movement, and she glanced briefly over their linked hands, her fingers reflexively flexing in the tiniest of squeezes. Bee couldnât help smiling over the words. âAnd whatever else we might be able to pack. Maybe Iâll leave out an emergency bag with all the things I might think I need for times like these,â she found herself pondering. With wide eyes, she watched as Bastien snatched up a bottle, worrying her lower lip between her teeth before she agreed. âIt does have this warming up quality,â the sentence trailed off. âIt might also account for entertainment.â
âAn emergency kit might be a good idea. Though until this happened I didnât even know avalanches happened in this area- so hopefully this is the only time weâll be in this situation.â As Bas spoke, he pulled a bottle of white wine off the shelf- some ludicrously expensive bottle, but he was sure nobody would realize it was even missing. âTwo birds with one stone, we warm up and it gives us something to do.â He took a sip before handing the bottle to Bee. Like teenagers sneaking liquor from their parents, without glasses they were left to drink from the bottle. It probably wasnât a great idea, but it was keeping Bee distracted from her panic, which was, in his opinion, more important right now.Â
