I was simultaneously excited and nervous when they announced their Morally Grey Vampire Show on D20 because it sounded so fun (!) but I immediately knew that the fandom was about to be Insufferable the moment the MORALLY GREY MONSTERS THAT EAT PEOPLE were not perfect little activists and in fact made a morally grey decision that wasn't a bit. The cast members are actually good RPG players. When you are playing a monster that eats people and is introduced as a person who would be objectively terrible in real life, they are not going to throw the entire character away to always act in a Tumblr-approved manner.
Obviously the morally grey businessman/bloodsucker did not respond well at first when a random person they JUST MET meddled with their long-term plans and tried to get between them and their closest friends. Of course that same vampire was not going to give that person millions of dollars immediately. Of course he would not be trained in sensitive conflict management. He is not a grassroots activist. He is an ancient monster that eats people who built an obscenely wealthy business empire while rubbing elbows with tech billionaires who is JUST starting to rethink things. That is what you all signed up for with this season. And yes on the flip side, of course Maya is not going to trust these random vampires who are trying to take over her town instantly. And an anarchist is probably not going to handle that conflict in a passive manner.
This is basic common sense. Do not like any character that doesn't behave exactly how you would want a normal real-life person to act? Can't handle fictional characters that are *actually* morally grey? Watch a different season.
