Brennan has a very Specific Type of man he plays that Aaron fits into. First, he uses that Very Normal Voice that Brennan does that sounds *almost* like Brennan’s casual voice. He is usually young, around the same age as a female PC and is generally attractive/charming. There is usually some level of flirtation/interest between the two. And each time he betrays them or sides with the Big Bad and seriously messes the party up before the PCs have to kill him.

Previous examples that I remember (spoilers for other seasons, obviously):

So far we have Aaron presented as a very attractive and charming young man around college age (about the age Vesper turned) who meets her and seems quite friendly at first. Tbh I would argue that conversation had a bit of a flirtatious charge to it at a few points, or at least could have skewed that way very easily. Emily has said herself that Vesper felt very drawn to him (especially given that she initially thought he was a herpetologist, which she correctly deems as the hottest type of zoologist). He has the Brennan Normal Voice TM.

She is a mother who lost her child. She is told that there is nothing wrong with his death and thinks if that’s true then she’s wrong for being unprepared to say goodbye. She carries her son’s skull with her so she can cradle him the way she did when he was a baby. She could not make herself attend the funeral. Why can’t she be nice anymore? She doesn’t know. She can’t acknowledge feelings, because she knows if she does she will absolutely shatter. She loves Hugi and desperately wants them to visit her. But she is mean to them when they do. She doesn’t know why. She is so sorry. This sucks. She misses her baby.

I haven’t cried like that at DND before.

Connor and Quinn’s worried conversation planning how to talk to Hugi? Them each taking the skill they are best at to tag-team that check in (Quinn helping her with the CD player, Connor checking with warmth)? “No I don’t hate you I fuckin’ love you”

Connor this episode comforting (and baffling) Hugi with the story about his parents? And him being the one to notice and pull them aside when they felt silenced by the group’s decision? Hugi telling Connor they want to know him better? And her little glance at him when she used his “I’m here if you want to talk about them” on Freaki?

Quinn being so in awe of Hugi’s skill at comforting people? Her being the one to pull it aside on the road to check in and being the one to bring up her concern for it with the group?

!!Quinn’s kind little “wow” when Hugi took their mask off in front of everyone for the first time😭!!

Quinn and Connor’s shared feeling of being out of place/unhelpful to their friends in the chilli cook-off. Them following Justin Sheffield into the swamp together. Conner jumping onto Quinn’s stilts and holding onto her by the cage?
