alisaie IS one of my favorite characters btw . Always has been.

Saw a post a while ago that was talking about how alisaie deserves to get an archons mark for curing tempering and talking about it like its a slight against her she didnt just get it and like. in theory youre right, but also its like...a thing you have to apply for, and i think she doesnt actually care enough to apply, because thats not why she did it in the first place. like she makes a comment about how miserable it sounds to write the thesis for it when g'raha talks about his archon thesis which doesn't exactly sound like someone who has doing that on her mind, but even beyond that, alisaie using knowledge she learned that doesnt really even exist in this world and working out the theory with the *primary goal* of helping people and using this skill she's developed to help bring peace to eorzea, is antithetical to how sharlayan views the advancement and collection of knowledge. the development of the skill is easily worthy of the mark, yes, but proceeding to do everything else she did with with it is directly the opposite of what someone who cared about it as an achievement worthy of that specific form of acknowledgement would do imo
