A sometimes under-discussed aspect of Hatsune's character is that she felt envy towards Sakiko at one point in life, and I'd argue she still feels it until her father's downfall. Sakiko is a child from the Togawa family who got to have a great childhood filled with love and care, she didn't have to live hidden from the world. I can imagine Hatsune, lonely and misunderstood, with no one to rely on, would love to spend just a day in Sakiko's skin and be able to live that fantasy of having a place to go back to. don't even GET me started on her wishing to take Tomori's place and be able to connect so deeply with Saki. Uika's envy of Tomori is a huge point of interest of mine since they are both not so different from each other. The core difference between them is that Tomori lives unmasked; what you see is what you get. She's an open book and even Soyo criticizes this once. Mygo is too personal and is based around screaming everything that's in your mind. It might leave Tomori vulnerable, but that's her way of expressing her inner world. Tomori is also naturally more optimistic and proactive. She could find it on herself to fight for what she wanted, to drag Anon and Soyo back to the band despite her own fears. Uika instead is a passive spectator of whatever the others will decide. She could be going through the most horrible episode after Ave Mujica disbanded but she Won't Reach Out to Sakiko or the others. She won't Act On Her Own because everytime she does it all goes wrong. Hatsune's genuineness is punished meanwhile Tomori's is rewarded

my wizardgirl keeps mage regressing during the big boss fight, throwing out level 1 Ice Bolt and giggling like we're supposed to find it cute. I know this bitch can do a level 12 modified Frosthammer Vortex. It's not even hard for her. But the Wyvern Queen, who we're supposed to be killing, keeps going "Wow, that was a really big spell for you! good job giving me -1 speed! You're soooo powerful!" and my fuckass mage is beaming at her with those big wet eyes. I don't care if you get "level dysphoria" from your gigantic big-girl mana pool I'm about to die out here

celestia is such a funny character like she's constantly manipulating twilight and friends to do shit instead of just asking and you could arguably frame that as being bc she's a "god" and pushing fate to her design or whatever, except that she engages with the group like a normal and relatable person, which makes it more like villainous machinations, except 90% of this manipulation goes towards things like "I don't want my party to be boring shit again. put my little country girl blorbos in there with zero prep so they fuck it up bad"

Celestia instantly makes more sense as a character when you ignore the princess stuff and remember that she's a 1000+ years old wizard. Of course she does manipulative trickster stuff to teach moral lessons and/or cause chaos to amuse herself, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course sometimes she's actually socially awkward and bad at personal relationships and has bad ideas that she thought were good that result in her eating shit embarrassing style, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course she lets the aristocrats and nobles run around being assholes she's still running on wizard advisor programming, she's basically trying to merlin the entire upper class of equestria instead of just a king and some knights. "Yeah uuhhh we'll release the incarnation of chaos himself from his ancient prison because we think this shy girl can be friends with him", terrible plan if you're thinking like a ruler, amazing plan if you're thinking like a wizard. Just look at Canterlot 'Castle' for five seconds and ask yourself if that's in any way a castle. No. Wizard tower, yes. Wizard.

I know you think it’s “feminist” to hate on women who already have self esteem and image issues (through no fault of their own, as a direct result of patriarchy) for doing something to help them cope with their fleeting youth - which may or may not have been stripped from them against their will due to years of depression, abuse, oppression, or whatever else - but the truth is that the freedom to get Botox is actually a right feminists have fought for - whether intentionally or unintentionally. Women used to get thrown away when we outlived our youth and beauty - now we have the option to prolong it and change the way we are perceived and treated by society as a whole. We ALL had to grow up too fast. We ALL have to cope with a childhood that ended too soon. I’m no less a feminist than you are simply because I choose to hold onto my youth and beauty because it helps me feel better about my own loss of innocence. This is all just another excuse to hate on women and tear us down. You’re literally letting the patriarchy win by judging women for their personal choices which harm absolutely no one. Please grow up. Not everyone is conventionally attractive or ages gracefully. Some women can cope with that and some can’t. Both deserve love and respect. Have some decency. You’re not edgy for this. You’re hating just like a man would.
