I know it's care I know it's to keep me safe But I can't take in much air When not being a happy child feels unsafe

But I am no longer a happy child I am not yet a grown woman I am simply a lass who feels emotions of all kind Am I not allowed to be sad or mad or worrisome?

I am tired, I am confused I can no longer will my words to rhyme however, I will be fine I am not strong but I needn't be

I have friends to turn to Parents who act out of love, not duty I am truly lucky Maybe one day I will be deserving of all this luck.

The trap of incompetence Can I escape even once? All my life I try but can't. Going back to my old ways.

The trap of comfort To which I revert. Like a warm bed Slowly choking me to death.

So many words so many verses clashing and twirling inside my head

Choose me one cries while the other doesn’t care

No words flow on the paper, my mind just sheds

Drops of tears spill on the 2 words with no dare

I don’t think I’m good enough I say

That’s too old and rubbish! all my peers think

I acknowledge, but deep down I know nothing lays

There was once a girl.

Sitting in her room.

Staring into the mirror.

She was surrounded by books of all kinds; textbooks which taught basic addition to algebra, note books whose contents ranged from messy pencil scribbles to scrawls of blue ink, picture books which made her love reading, novels which shaped the way she looked at the world.

She saw in the mirror hope and hopelessness. Joy and sorrow. Anger and apathy. Motivation and discouragement.

People told her be hopeful but hope lost meaning without hopelessness.

She was told to search for happiness but the journey to it was filled with sadness.

Anger is bad for you they said but it lit a flame within her like nothing else. Apathy is another word for laziness she was told but maybe it was her way of taking a break.

Seek motivation she was taught but without a little discouragement how wud her determination be tested?

Maybe just maybe she didn't have to accept those things.

Do you ever feel like you're slowly going insane? Words on a page But nothing in your brain

Do you ever feel like you're mind is shutting off? Pen in your hand But nothing to cough

Heal to keep fighting.

"Why?"

Because you can't keep fighting if you're running on empty. You need to pause. To breathe. To mend. Otherwise, you hit a wall, and no amount of willpower can carry you through it.

Healing isn't weakness. It's the strength to say, "I need time," and the courage to take it.

I've watched Olympic swimmers race, then dive back in minutes later for another event. But they didn't perform their best, and not because they lacked skill, but because they didn't let themselves recover.

You have to heal first.

If not for yourself, then for the people who love you. And family isn't just blood. It's the ones who show up. The ones who care. The ones who see you when you're barely holding on.

Heal for them. Heal for you. Because you matter, and you're allowed to rest before you rise.
