everyone talks about âdid you put your name in the goblet of fireâ being the worst book to movie dialogue fail but lets be real the worst is where hermione answers a question in class and snape calls her an âinsufferable know-it-allâ and in the book ron is furious and he goes OFF and says âyou asked a question and she knows the answer! why ask if you donât want to be told?â but in the movies they just make him say âheâs got a point, you knowâ and iâm still mad about it
same, never forgive for Rons character assassinationÂ

Heâs cosplaying the night sky.
The Showgirls posters have to be the most hilariously terrible designs Iâve seen in my life, yet I have never been able to find a single explication on what was the marketing team thinking.
Not an interview, not people commenting it, nothing, the Leg Worm Head Woman was just accepted and left like that and it haunts me
This is incredible

Headcanon that an outraged 6-year-old Charlie Weasley writes to an elderly Newt Scamander wanting to know why Gringotts keeps a dragon locked up underground and begging him to fix it. Newt writes back saying that sadly heâs been fighting that fight for years and no one ever wants to listen to him because the powerful families whose money is being kept safe by the dragon always shut him down, and that Charlie is the first person heâs heard of whoâs as angry as he is about it. Charlie decides that day to dedicate his life to finding out everything he can about dragons so that one day he can free the poor Gringotts dragon. After the war, when they hear that Harry, Ron and Hermione freed the dragon, they celebrate and immediately begin petitioning to have it made illegal to imprison dragons so that nothing like that ever happens again. Itâs only when Hermione becomes Minister that itâs finally signed into law.
This is the best Harry Potter headcanon Iâve ever seen
yes yes yes
Just imagine how that conversation would go though, like Charlieâs been learning about dragons his whole life, studying them, learning about the laws surrounding them, practising the jailbreak of dragons by smuggling one out of Hogwarts, preparing for the moment when, one day, he can free the Ukrainian Ironbelly from Gringotts.
And Ronâs like âOh, yeah, donât worry about itâwe broke into Gringotts and used him as our get-away vehicle. Heâs just chilling in the wilds somewhere now so, yeah. Job done.â
âEw youâre an adult why are you in fandomâ Kid, if being mocked for fandom shit wasnât enough to stop me when I was an actual 15 year old, hearing it from a 15 year old when Iâm 30 is genuinely hilarious
me: *has no money* when i get money iâll definitely buy that
me: *gets money* okay but do i really want that??

Tyrus Wong October 25, 1910 - December 30, 2016
I havenât been updating the blog a lot and only recently started working on it again. This post sat at the bottom of my drafts. Itâs been there for almost a year. I wanted to start a new feature on the blog that would celebrate an artist and their work and I wanted to feature Tyrus Wong first; one of my favorite artists.
Earlier today he passed away at 106 years old. Tyrus Wong was a Chinese immigrant who spent the majority of his career being marginalized; his work often going unrecognized because of his race.
It was for his work on Disneyâs Bambi, that Wong is perhaps most recognized for today, although, that took some time.
Inspired by the landscape paintings of the Song Dynasty, Wong created exquisite watercolor and pastel landscape paintings that would inspire the entire look of the film (see images above). Walt Disney loved his work so much that he was unofficially promoted as the films âinspirational sketch artist.â
Wong spent two years creating the illustrations that ultimately inspired the look and feel of the film Bambi. When animators and special effects artists had questions about color or lighting, they went to Wong. His work inspired everything from the tone of the film, to the special effects and the music.
Even though his work influenced the look and feel of the film, Wongâs named appeared at almost the bottom of Bambiâs credits as a background artist. Shortly after his work on Bambi ended, Wang, who had taken no part in them, was let go because of the animatorâs strikes at Disney. Wang held no resentment toward the studio, believing that they had treated him good.
In 1942 he joined Warner Bros. where he worked as a storyboard artist, designer, and background artist until his retirement in 1968.
Since his retirement heâs done work primarily as a painter and also worked as a muralist, ceramicist, lithographer, designer and later in life; a kite maker. In the 90â˛s he had a sort of resurgence as he became widely recognized for his work in fine art and painting.
Wong spent the majority of his career breaking racial barriers, not letting himself be constrained by the lines set down by others and in 2001 he finally got the recognition he deserved for his work on Bambi; and was honored as a Disney Legend.

okay but Vader literally turned off the lights on his chest panel to make an impression on the Rebels. That whole emerging from the darkness by the light of his saber thing? That was intentional dramatic effect. What a drama king.
Leia got away because he wasted 30 seconds scaring the crap outta those poor rebel mooks.
And since theyâre indicators, he would have had to turn his life support off. So he nearly died for drama.
Vader lives on mustafar, the planet where he lost ž of his limbs. Is there ANYTHING he does for purposes other than to be dramatic?
The man flew into an underground temple standing on top of a tiefighter he was flying with the Force while he also made his cape billow dramatically in a nonexistent wind, there is nothing Vader will not do for Drama
Why does anyone ever question that the evil piece of shit raised by Obi-Wan âIâm gonna flirt with all my enemiesâ Kenobi and brought to the darkside by Sheev âI am the senateâ Palpatine is the most dramatic mother fucker in the Star Wars universe?
i love debbie reynolds
Chiune Sugihara. This man saved 6000 Jews. He was a Japanese diplomat in Lithuania. When the Nazis began rounding up Jews, Sugihara risked his life to start issuing unlawful travel visas to Jews. He hand-wrote them 18 hrs a day. The day his consulate closed and he had to evacuate, witnesses claim he was STILL writing visas and throwing from the train as he pulled away. He saved 6000 lives. The world didnât know what heâd done until Israel honored him in 1985, the year before he died.
Why canât we have a movie about him?
He was often called âSempoâ, an alternative reading of the characters of his first name, as that was easier for Westerners to pronounce.
His wife, Yukiko, was also a part of this; she is often credited with suggesting the plan. The Sugihara family was held in a Soviet POW camp for 18 months until the end of the war; within a year of returning home, Sugihara was asked to resign - officially due to downsizing, but most likely because the government disagreed with his actions.
He didnât simply grant visas - he granted visas against direct orders, after attempting three times to receive permission from the Japanese Foreign Ministry and being turned down each time. He did not âmisreadâ orders; he was in direct violation of them, with the encouragement and support of his wife.
He was honoured as Righteous Among the Nations in 1985, a year before he died in Kamakura; he and his descendants have also been granted permanent Israeli citizenship. He was also posthumously awarded the Life Saving Cross of Lithuania (1993); Commanderâs Cross Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland (1996); and the Commanderâs Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2007). Though not canonized, some Eastern Orthodox Christians recognize him as a saint.
Sugihara was born in Gifu on the first day of 1900, January 1. He achieved top marks in his schooling; his father wanted him to become a physician, but Sugihara wished to pursue learning English. He deliberately failed the exam by writing only his name and then entered Waseda, where he majored in English. He joined the Foreign Ministry after graduation and worked in the Manchurian Foreign Office in Harbin (where he learned Russian and German; he also converted to the Eastern Orthodox Church during this time). He resigned his post in protest over how the Japanese government treated the local Chinese citizens. He eventually married Yukiko Kikuchi, who would suggest and encourage his acts in Lithuania; they had four sons together. Chiune Sugihara passed away July 31, 1986, at the age of 86. Until her own passing in 2008, Yukiko continued as an ambassador of his legacy.
It is estimated that the Sugiharas saved between 6,000-10,000 Lithuanian and Polish Jewish people.
Itâs a tragedy that the Sugiharas arenât household names. They are among the greatest heroes of WWII. Is it because they were from an Axis Power? Is it because they arenât European? I donât know. But Iâve decided to always reblog them when they come across my dash. If I had the money, IÂ would finance a movie about them.
He told an interviewer:
You want to know about my motivation, donât you? Well. It is the kind of sentiments anyone would have when he actually sees refugees face to face, begging with tears in their eyes. He just cannot help but sympathize with them. Among the refugees were the elderly and women. They were so desperate that they went so far as to kiss my shoes, Yes, I actually witnessed such scenes with my own eyes. Also, I felt at that time, that the Japanese government did not have any uniform opinion in Tokyo. Some Japanese military leaders were just scared because of the pressure from the Nazis; while other officials in the Home Ministry were simply ambivalent.
People in Tokyo were not united. I felt it silly to deal with them. So, I made up my mind not to wait for their reply. I knew that somebody would surely complain about me in the future. But, I myself thought this would be the right thing to do. There is nothing wrong in saving many peopleâs livesâŚ.The spirit of humanity, philanthropyâŚneighborly friendshipâŚwith this spirit, I ventured to do what I did, confronting this most difficult situationâand because of this reason, I went ahead with redoubled courage.
He died in nearly complete obscurity in Japan. His neighbors were shocked when people from all over, including Israeli diplomatic personnel, showed up at quiet little Mr. Sugiharaâs funeral.
I will forever reblog this, I wish more people would know about them!
I liked this before when it had way less information. Thank you, history-sharers.
Tucked away in a corner in L.A.âs Little Tokyo is a life-sized statue of Chiune, seated on a bench and smiling gently as he holds out a visa.Â
The stone next to him bears a quote from the Talmud;Â âHe who saves one life, saves the entire world.â Â
I had no idea it existed until a few weeks ago, but itâs since become one of my favorite pieces of public art.Â
Chiune Sugihara. Â Original antifa.
always reblog Chiune Sugihara. I have his picture over my desk at work to remind me whatâs important.
