I'm not talking about 'Buddy Comedy' here, I'm talking about genuine friendships. Where are the guys who love their partner, but call their best friend when they're anxious and need someone to talk it through with? Where are the guys who trust each other and don't fall apart the moment a woman they both like walks onto the screen?

Women have that. We can call out besties about any and everything. Body issues, relationships. Parent problems. Fashion. We reach out, and our friends will answer.

But how many times have you seen a man in media tell one of his friends "Hey, you're looking sharp today!" or "look, you need to sit down and talk to Partner about this. You're not in a good place and they can help." or even "You can break down with me. You don't have to pretend you're okay" without it being sexualized by fans, or mocked by critics?

We complain about toxic masculinity, but it's rare to see healthy masculinity encouraged. That includes platonic, male/male relationships that don"t involve their sexualities.

Remember, healthy platonic male friendships can be between two gay men, two straight men, a gay and a straight man etc. It's not just Straight White Guys that are getting screwed by this. It's everyone.

I like to think that the LGBTQ+ community understands the need for healthy representation better than anyone. Representation matters for more than just our community, and that means representation for healthy platonic relationships too.

There aren't limited seats at the Equality Table. There's room to support healthy masculinity.

You’re one of the people that really helped me see the difference made by grassroots activism. Thanks to you I now can go beyond my initial discomfort with looking at human suffering in the eyes, as it exists just next to us. I can make a difference, so can anyone and everyone.

You’ve helped me look beyond the heavy heritage left by slavery and find back what I’ve thought I’ve left behind in childhood. Solidarity, kindness that exists just because, drive to make everyone’s living conditions better, the power of just one will, black people being happiness for no special reason. Being a little further away than “just surviving”. I’m less jaded: Internet activism and arguing with people who are neck-deep in theory made me blasé but I can change it now. Spin in around.

Yeah it’s been almost a full year of our relief fund! I can’t believe it. I never thought I’d still be doing pulls a whole year later.

I’m really happy that we could help in any way. It’s probably the thing I’m proudest of in my life tbh.

And for as much as it inspires you, it does so doubly for me. I’m seeing first hand how anyone, even me, can make a tangible difference in people’s lives. So I’m grateful.

Jeremy Corbyn is the ex leader of the Labour Party, in case you thought he tweeted something rude about Prince Philip, he didn’t. This was the tweet in question:

Its simply not about Prince Philip. And it was posted after the news had broken, and that is the reason for said backlash. It has been reported in multiple national news papers that Jeremy Corbyn tweeted about something else after the Prince was already dead.

We have now entered into our 8 day mourning period, and the government will soon offer guidance as to how public bodies should proceed. Yes you heard that correctly we all need governmental guidance for dealing with the death of a 99 year old most have never met. The standard rules involve local governments ceasing operation during this time.

It is absolutely everywhere, every single radio station, news report, newspaper, magazine, television show HAS to be talking about it 24/7 right now. Went to watch BBC iplayer last night and every recommendation is about Prince Philip.

I’m not getting my hopes up until I see something come out of it.
