reblogging this again to bring up that when my grandma said she didn’t understand trans people, and why would they betray the body God gave them, it would have been 0 help to explain to her all the biological and cultural and societal components to the existence of the concept of gender and trans people. You know what did make her pause and reconsider her stance? “Did you ever think that maybe God made trans people on purpose?” And we got to have a conversation about all the interesting things God has made so why wouldn’t God make trans people? And she came out of the conversation with more grace and understanding.

i have to say tho i DO think people will be a lot kinder to RTD2 in retrospect. right now it has Reality War and also u know the possible cancellation hanging over it but like for most of it the response was pretty positive? it just ended very badly.

Every era gets better with the perspective of "it was like this for a while and now that part's over." I think people get overly fixated on what they don't like about how the show is Now because the way it is Now is all they know about How It Will Be and anything bad becomes evidence it's Ruined Forever.

sometimes I think the world is ending and then I remember people have thought the world is going to end within their lifetime for at least 1,500 years and they were all wrong and had to live through this bullshit anyway

doctor who cancelled and people swore up and down that chibnall destroyed the show and rtd would fix it…..i have to laugh

If this is cancellation Chibnall was cancelled too.
