saw the odyssey last night, it fucked almighty hard, and today i found out that zero cgi went into creating the cyclops, like it was a massive hand-built animatronic puppet; the scene where circe transforms odysseus's men into pigs was done using all practical effects and make up; the laestrygonians were all played by 7 ft tall stuntmen and made to look especially giant using forced perspective camera magic; and like i don't wanna hear SHIT about FUCK vis a vis "oh it's too hard to use practical effects anymore, you have to use cgi and green screen for everything, blah blah blah" SHUT UP!!!!!!!! THEY MADE A CYCLOPS!!!!!!!!!!! BY HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
