one thing i always remember is the scab leader. he’s one of the first overtly politically-active characters you meet, and he makes a damn good argument against the union. there’s a number of ways you might respond to him as the player, but i think the intended conflict with him is whether or not you trust in the concept of the union enough to ignore his sound reasoning. and the best part about that is that it’s a false binary! the reality is that the scabs and the union are *both* wrong, and roughly equally so, with the union having devolved into a neoliberal mess and the scabs having good points but ultimately preferring exploitation to liberation. the real test is whether or not you see through both sides’ bullshit and realize that the problem doesn’t stem from the union or the scabs, but the corporate control over the docks and Revachol at large.

I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.

I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.

This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.

It’s called whiteness. You’re also a person of color how is this not glaringly apparent to you.

The issue with transfeminism is the issue with every affinity movement borne out of a white supremacist society - many want to maintain the benefits of whiteness or proximity to whiteness while no longer being oppressed themselves.

The rot is that y’all letting Black trans women die down in the hold and making us row the whole damn boat while y’all are topside going “oh but the boat has such a high death statistic” and never looking down in the hold. Never acknowledging it except to go “isnt it so great that Black trans women built this boat for us? See, we even have one or two up here with us :)” While WE ARE STILL DYING AT YOUR FEET.

I agree but also really wanna highlight that while the conception of whiteness is strongest in the US, antiblackness is horrifically global in damn near every society and even as colorism within Black communities/societies.

While not everything I say is globally applicable, exploitation of Black folks is, although to varying levels.
