We were aware from very early on that this game would attract that kind of crowd, and decided it was better to embrace it, because like our friend @kawaiite-mage says, nothing is more boring than a game where the devs have tried to scrub out every feature that “weird” people might find sexy.

since one of the big themes is “Monsters’ obligate cannibalism representing people whose needs can only be met at great personal loss from others”, the game isn’t a "vore game," but it does have beautiful/scary women who eat people whole, and if people are into into that, well, more sales for us, and hopefully more people engaging with these themes and messages and stuff.

And, just to literary-analysis-post all over your vore post (lol), Eureka is actually very pro monsters eating people, but not in that concerning “oh it would be so cool to have monsters going around eating [the type of people I’ve dehumanized]” kinda way, but because by taking what they need from others, they are people with tremendously costly needs asserting their own right to life through any means necessary, even if it does cause harm to other people and make them reviled by the greater society.

It’s not a 1:1 metaphor obviously but being severely, or even sometimes minorly, disabled can be much the same way.

That’s also why Eureka PCs are not referred to as “monster hunters,” and official Eureka adventure modules will rarely, if ever, be scenarios like “a vampire exists somewhere here, go kill it just for being a vampire.”

On the other hand, the normal people that monsters eat have just as much right to life, and have the right to defend themselves from being eaten (that’s very different from being a “monster hunter,” but the topic of “monster hunters” in Eureka is a really dense one that I’m not medicated enough to get into right now).

But killing someone who is so desperate that they have to come for your life to get what they need, and killing someone so that you can have what you need to live, I wouldn’t call either an act of heroism.

(oh and also yeah the way that so many games treat GMs, the players might as well be eating them too, but i've always been partial to the analogy of huge swaths of TTRPG cultural space treating GMs like 40K servators, hollowing out their bodies and skulls so that the players can run DOOM on their brains.)

hey everyone its kuro

i am in the process of putting together a plan to rescue my siblings Purgatory system from a unfathomably abusive family/home. (for a clue into how bad: its legal mother is not allowed to have her own key to their house or drive a car. theres surveillance around the perimeter of their house) i am setting a general goal of $2,000 which will go towards registering and inspecting the van i will be trading my car out for, storage unit to put my things in during the trade, cost of going across the country to get it and/or a plane ticket for it to fly here, and anything leftover will go towards food, bedding, and other essentials. please please help me get it out of this hell. no one deserves to live in a cage where it is scrutinized, abused, and neglected in filth

I won't be putting my plan into motion until around mid September(whenever the weather cools off enough here for me to be doing physical labor without getting heatsick and further disabling myself or dying)

Please Help. I want us to have a life worth living my car barely fits me let alone someone else who is also disabled. Just last night it told me it wants to kill itself because it cant see a way out.
