Also I've been thinking about it and I'm embarrassed by the "Chloe is Sublime" theory now. In hindsight "character becomes good by becoming phyiscally disabled from assault by a parent" is kinda ableist and not the best thing to be hyped over and I'm sorry.

The cookbook stars everyone's favorite chef in Danganronpa, Kirumi Tojo. She guides the reader through the book through how to create many of the V3 cast's favorite foods, foods inspired by the V3 cast she'd think they'd enjoy for characters whose favorite foods are fast food or similar, and some of the foods in the Monomono Machine: Ginger Tea, Maple Fudge, Face Gyoza, Omurice topped with ketchup from the V3 anthology, etc. At the end she even throws in some inedible materials you can make in the kitchen like modeling dough that she'd think some of the characters would enjoy!

At the "end" of the book, there's a comic where Kaede asks Kirumi what her favorite food is, and after Kaede specifies what her favorite food to eat specifically is, Kirumi realizes that she actually doesn't have a favorite food despite how weird that is, and proceeds to sift through her memories and realizes that they don't make any sense. All her memories are of her serving people as a teenager. She has zero childhood memories and zero memories explaining why she wants to serve people in the first place. And the memories she does have all seem to be in an impossibly short timeframe as well. Naturally, Kirumi has a mental freakout over all of this.

Thankfully, she's back to normal on the next page, albeit different? She looks shorter, has rounder eyes, and a little wider, but nothing massive. She acts more enthusiastic and keeps on making references to other media franchises. Her recipes are different, too, instead being focused on the Danganronpa franchise as a whole (which she namedrops often) as well as favorite foods, themed foods, and Monomomo Machine foods from elsewhere in the series: Squid ink croissants. Mondo butter pancakes. Donuts. Deep-fried sausage. Deep fried dough sticks. Tropical juice shaved ice. Monokuma cookies. Even bagels with cream cheese designed to look like Komaeda's hairdo. As she continues her series of recipes, the door suddenly breaks down to reveal Shuichi and Kaede doing a double "No, that's wrong!"

The book switches to comic once again as Kaede, Shuichi, and most of the V3 gang barge in to reveal that, as most have probably expected. That's not Kirumi. The real Kirumi was bound, gagged, and stripped to her undies after her freakout and the rest of the cookbook was done by Tsumugi Shirogane impersonating Kirumi Tojo. How did she not turn pink from cospox? She did, she just hid it with lots of concealer. Also, the connections with Monokuma end up being a key that she is the mastermind of this killing game, ending it before any deaths can happen. Tsumugi is just glad this book isn't canon as she's tied up.
