My song Pieces starts in French: "tu sais que je t'aime," (you know I love you), but now it's time for me to go... Sometimes after a long relationship ends there is a feeling of being lost and scattered, like you need to regroup, gather all the pieces, and try to make sense of things. It's good to learn from, but not dwell on the past. One of my biggest challenges in relationships has been letting go when it was evidently not the relationship to last a lifetime. After heartache subsided from losing some feelings I had grown accustomed to, there is a sigh of relief I look back and can be glad I have moved on and taken inventory of the good, the bad, and the lessons. I think this song captures the feelings of hope and resolve to move. It's called Pieces because sometimes that's all we get to take with us, and we have to make the best we can with them.
