i think it felt this weird because this time the end of a long-term project was not marked by the usual last day rush in which i try to make up for weeks of work in one day. so it didnt register to me as Truly Done until i went through the motions of clearing my desk of books and notes counting how many pages i have left and other such bullshit

#spoken #been cryin on and off in frustration then relief and now because for the first time in my life i feel like i achieved something #and i did it in a way that i didn't know or believe i was capable of. like i humoured the thought of myself being able to do something hard #and boring consistently for a few days but i was fully expecting myself to drop it and then have to go through the painful humiliating #experience of having to make up for the lost time #but i stuck to it and i did it every day and i even have one day left to spare! what!!!!#ngl i think it was at least 50% because ive been taking my sisters adhd meds #yesterday i didnt take them cuz i started working on this quite late and the main difference i noticed was that while on meds i still get #distracted i'm able to remind myself what im supposed to be doing in like 5 seconds or less and continue doing The Task. and without #the meds i just kinda kept at doing the distraction for a while even after i realised i should be going back to work

sooo does anyone here know how to feel accomplished at all after finishing doing something that was boring long and difficult with unusual amounts of self discipline. instead of worry and shame that it didnt turn out better

#at this point i was ready to take just the usual relief of Im Glad I Dont Have To Do This Anymore #but apparently that's not on the agenda today #i feel like i should still be doing something to fix it but i know it is too late to do that #so i feel restless and guilty and so fucking annoyed at myself and my stupid broken brain #spoken
