Auntie advice from someone who had an avid/marm in my own life:
This sort of delusional manipulation is kinda normal??? Of course, it's not always that you get someone messing around with people in this scale and with so much public around, but any company, friend group or related organization you join is open to have at least one person inside who is plotting against someone else and spreading lies.
It's some sort of survival instinct combined with a large sense of self importance. Normal healthy people tend to take their bad feelings towards someone else and consider alternatives like "maybe they had a bad day", "we are just far too different", "we don't see eye to eye", instead of thinking "this person is the WORST and I have to TAKE THEY DOWN because they are out TO GET ME and DESTROY EVERYTHING I LOVE"
These people benefit a lot from the new normal of "always believe victims" -- because they know that if they play their cards right, with the right amount of storytelling, they can get anyone to side with them. Someone who was many different stories of having enemies, being persecuted, who had a history of fighting multiple people, usually is someone who is spinning tales, because statistically it's very hard to be THAT unlucky in life.
Of course, it's complicated to see all that when the lying is done by someone who is part of a persecuted group, a minority or a vulnerable person. There are people who will use their social vulnerabilities to wreck havoc on a friend group.
IN CONCLUSION: whenever someone is telling you something horrible they have been through, don't doubt it, but be open to be challenged.
The best to do is keep your eyes and ears open, and not take conclusions without investigating, asking around and waiting. That's why cancel culture is so dangerous when it demands immediate action!
Also, when the manipulator has some sort of political power (as in, it's someone higher on the corporate ladder, or a leader of your community), the best you can do is not challenge them so you don't become a target because they will use their power to harm you. Step away and find something else to do. If you feel strong enough, you can offer support to victims, but I don't think anyone has to be a hero in this sort of scenario.
That all being said, do not let a person like that turn you into a bitter version of yourself! There are way more nice honest people than manipulators out there, and you have the right to be nice and open to meet them.
Can we stop acting like two people deeply loving each other has to mean they have something romantic or sexual going on? Can we stop talking as if platonic love just can't be that deep? Because that's not true. Platonic love can be just as deep, and sometimes even deeper, than romantic love. What I'm saying is, we need to stop putting romance on this pedestal and act like every other form of love is less important.

happy one year anniversary to this post getting marked as "potentially mature content" and then never leaving content review when i appealed. tumblr's own default loading graphic is considered by their own tos "potentially sexual" it seems.
@support you got any explanations for how this post got flagged? or why it never got reviewed? or what mature content might potentially be happening? believe me i am ALL ears
it's 2026 and this post is officially no longer "potentially mature" and is just "mature". so: either tumblr's own default loading graphic is now confirmed to be explicitly sexual and pornographic
or the concept of a pride flag is considered to be inappropriate for 13 year olds.
happy pride 2026. here's a pride flag for when corporate interests of a site run by dogshit transphobes, handwringing pearlclutchers, and "powerless" "allies" tell you that pride and your gender is no one else's fucking business:
When I worked at Target, it was during the winter, and this guy comes up to my register with a neutral-colored beanie with a fake fur pompom on top. All embarrassed and cringing, asking me if it was a woman’s hat and if it would be weird for him to get it.
I was like, “It’s just a hat. If you like it and you wear it, it’s not a woman’s hat, it’s just your hat. You don’t need to follow what the tag says if you don’t want to.” And it was like I gave him some kind of awe-inspiring wisdom he’d never considered, and he left with that hat on his head.
More cishets need to hear and internalize this message because so many of them are avoiding things that would make them happy just because of it having a label on it for whatever gender.

We, a selection of moderators from the Skyblock Kingdoms community, felt it was relevant to provide our own thoughts on AvidMC and Marma1ade. These statements are our own, and do not reflect on any other individuals than ourselves.

right now, we really heavily value making sure that it's abundantly clear our wording has not been edited or changed at any time past when things have been posted. if you're seeing this reblog, you now know that this was the exact wording we used when this statement was posted on June 10th, 2026.
I don't want to talk about Avid and Marm, they're getting enough attention already. But can we just acknowledge how well the community is handling this situation? Like, this is probably the best and most mature reaction possible to what's been going on, and that's lowkey saved my faith in the mcyt community as a whole. (This got way longer than I intended, read more below)
On the CC's side, it seems like they all got together to figure out the truth and then handled everything privately before ever letting us know things were going down. Then when they did come out with statements and stories, they took the time to gather their thoughts and say everything the way it needed said. They've also been really good about getting permission to share screenshots and names before bringing things up as evidence. Despite all the distrust that's apparently been sown between them the last few months, they still had each others backs and presented a united front on the issue. That's a big deal actually. It's also nice to see how everyone has teamed up to raise support for their friends that lost their jobs from this whole mess. Every stream I was in today had people yelling not to sub to them, but support Musithical, Peeporp, and Box instead. Immediate action, no nonsense.
Everyone's also been very clear about how they want this situation handled going forward. Every statement I've heard/read has started with some variation of "Don't spread hate or harassment" and "I'll talk about this once and never again". The goal is to let people know what's happening, not start discourse. As Cleo said, "living without them is our reward". The problem has been handled, now it's best for everyone to put it behind and move on. They've also been extremely clear about how disrespecting people's identities is never an appropriate response and spreading hate isn't helpful to anyone. They could have turned the tables and started a smear campaign, kept digging this up for weeks to profit off the drama, but they aren't and I honestly respect that so much.
And not to give certain people too much (or any) credit, but at least they didn't double down and start trying to sway the viewers. I could speculate why, but whatever the reason, they totally could have turned this into an "I said, they said" back and forth drama to try and keep some of their fans, and I think we can at least appreciate that didn't happen. We've seen that before, especially in mcyt communities. Accusations are made, people get angry and defensive, lies and misinformation spread until no one knows which side is in the wrong. I'm just really glad we skipped that this time around.
I've also seen so many posts, both from fellow fans and CCs about not blaming ourselves for not knowing. There's been so much reassurance that none of us were bad people for liking and supporting past projects, or still caring about those stories. Everyone was lied to, that's not our fault. And everyone is making sure the blame is pointed at the right people. Not at fans for supporting them, not at friends who were lied to and manipulated, but at the people really at fault. Alternatively, something I haven't seen is people condemning other fans for not immediately deleting works or posts mentioning these people. Some people have been doing that, but i haven't seen many people saying that you should be doing that or you're a bad person, which I've seen before over far less. You're not a bad person for having loved something without knowing better. You're not doing anything wrong by still caring about something you've put time and effort into.
I've honestly just been so impressed by how well this has been handled. When I first heard about yet another scandal where a notable streamer gets kicked from a server, my gut reaction was to leave the community altogether, or at least avoid it entirely for a few months while the drama died down. (I can handle disappointment when a streamer turns out to be less than ideal, but there's only so many times I can trust someone to mean well only for them to turn around and be an utterly horrible person). I stuck around for the day just to hear the story and make my own judgement of the situation, and the conclusion? I think I actually love the community more. Legundo said on stream something like "this is the good ending to an awful situation" and... well I think he's right actually. The fallout could have been terrible and destroyed the community everyone's worked so hard to build. Instead, it looks like everyone's come together to try and heal, to grow stronger together moving forward. It sucks, but after everything the future looks optimistic, and that's the best possible outcome we could've gotten here.

I'm sure by now all of you have have seen or heard about Avid and Marm announcing their retirement, followed immediately by statements from SBK and other affiliated creators coming forward about them having been manipulative and exploitative in personal relationships, and their removal from every space they had been involved in. This blog is and always has been run by a third party, and I deeply condemn the harm that has been caused, so I want to repost some of the relevant statements and put a bookend on everything before locking down this blog.
SBK's collective statement:
A couple of the individual statements that I feel are most important are Rubyco's and Musithical's, hyperlinked here. Please read them, and offer support to the affected parties as you are able.
The SBK community discord can be found via the SBK linktree, but please note that it has been a huge priority of the Skyheads and mods during this ordeal to keep the community a safe space; all are welcome but please be polite and don't join solely to talk about this. Avid and Marm's discord servers have both been locked down into a permanent read-only state.
It is my personal request that during this time (and always) we all treat each other with kindness, and keep in mind that no identity or aspect of someone's life absolves them of the capacity for harm. Queer people can cause harm, people who make good art can cause harm, people who have in your experience never been anything but kind and caring can cause harm. It is my hope that the conversation here can focus not on the people who caused the harm, or whether anyone should have somehow known what was happening, but instead on offering support and reparations to those who have been harmed. Feel free to reblog this post but keep any commentary respectful, and again, if you are able to, please materially support people like Musi who are the most affected by this.
I’ve slept, I finally feel like my world isn’t collapsing, and here we go because this needs to be said
You are not a bad person for supporting them
They were manipulators and that’s what they do, they manipulate
For a lot of us, those chats became safe places, those safe places do not have to disappear. Just because the chat won’t exist anymore, that doesn’t mean that we have to stop supporting each other
It does not matter what you choose to do with your fanworks, me personally, I will not be continuing my fics with them in it but I’m not going through the hassle of deleting anything. I’m proud of the stories I made, I’m proud of what I’ve created, they won’t ruin that for me. But I will not continue them
There’s a lot going around on what to do about V!Avid and, personally, I believe it is up to us. Each individual, I believe my friends when they say they are claiming V!Avid because the “creator” didn’t care about him, I don’t mind the people who don’t want to write him anymore. It is up to you, and we should not be attacking anyone for writing a CHARACTER that was so beloved by the community but so clearly hated by the “creator”
At the end of the day, what we do next is our own choice, we have autonomy, we can do good with these ashes left behind. So don’t tear people down, built them up, Lord knows we’ve had enough tear downs this weekend
