This Tumblr post is the first time someone has explained to me *why* I couldn’t feed them before those instances.

every single time i have had to say, "i understand that if he had food or water, he could aspirate it into his lungs under anesthesia. i am not lying to you." THEN someone would make a little note and i would stop being repeatedly asked.

not a single time was that risk explained to me. the only reason it came up was because i already knew. i still don't understand why it isn't standard pre-op counseling or pre-op check information, when me as a parent acknowledging the actual risk also put THE MEDICAL STAFF at ease because i conveyed that i had informed understanding as reason to not lie about giving my kid food.

I really do regret my inaction the most. Every time. All of my future problems are always caused by things I failed to do in the present. And every time, I get so mad at past Me for not even trying because I’m so afraid to fail.

I always remembered him as the bloke from the Nescafe Gold Blend ad from before he was in Buffy.

He did a little of everything, so of course he was in BF. I listened to these really early, and remember liking them. They're from the early, more experimental phase of BF while Doctor Who hadn't yet been renewed so they were the flagship, and could try on new hats.

stop making Piper edits and using faceclaims that are not native. it’s not hard to look up native actors, i promise. there aren’t a lot of them, but it’s still not that hard. if i had a dollar for every single Piper edit i saw with Jasmine Hollins, Christina Nadin, Ashley Moore or some other non-native actress/model, usually a very tan white girl or an asian girl, i’d be as rich as ricky boy himself.

don’t find a pretty tan girl on pinterest and crop it aesthetically and add a few filters to make her racially ambiguous. stop doing that shit.

Note: from what I’ve heard, preferably, you use a Tsalagi/Cherokee person for the edit/fancast. If not, someone from a related tribe might work, but Cherokee folks are preferred.

Also! While using random, non-actor/model native folks as reference for drawing can be fine, using them for fancasts and edits without explicit permission is really inappropriate, so try to make sure whoever you’re using is 1) Native, esp Cherokee, 2) around Piper’s age, please (fancasting her as a 40yr old when she’s like 16 is ummm), and 3) an actor, model, or just generally explicitly okay with being used in those kinds of public photo edits.
