I just wanted to do a little quick drawing to force me to make less clean drawing than I do usually. And of course I draw Aki because I so love to draw her! (I post two versions just because I like both)
Iāve never seen GX butĀ āSeto Kaiba grows up to build, run, and own a card game school, which teaches children card games.ā is the funniest most ridiculous yet in-character thing Iāve ever heard. Of course he did. Seto Kaibaās two greatest ambitions in life are making children happy and being the best at card games! Natural that he would combine them. Seto Kaiba, High School Principal (But For Card Games) is somehow both so completely stupid that it sounds like a joke AND just taking everything about Kaibaās character to its logical extreme. It makes perfect sense and also no sense at all. Chefās kiss.Ā
I have been informed that Seto Kaiba owns but does not actively run the card game school, and while I understand that is the GX writerās decision, I am choosing to ignore it. In my heart he sits in an office wearing his dumb trenchcoat surrounded by a bunch of encouraging posters and drinking out of a novelty coffee mug Mokuba got him for his birthday, while he plans fun tournament events and lectures the occasional troublemaker. You cannot take this from me.
i know the joke with 5ds is "card games on motorcycles" and it's funny and all but i think it's way funnier if you watch the show. because if you do it becomes clear very fast tha the show is not going to slow down for the absurdity of the premise. yeah we have card games on motorcycles. the motorcycles represent freedom. anyways we have more important things ot get to, such as CLASS CONFLICT-
The mark that binds us

Objectively the best and funniest way to use Yuri in the yu-boys brainshare setup.
A scene that made me feel things in the most recent episode of GX I saw (s1 ep25)
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!! so to celebrate i drew things the gx cast fumbling what not to say during a coming out!! my goofuses deserve the world...
Seto Kaiba really is The Character of All Time. He has more money than God. He's the reincarnation of an Ancient Egyptian Priest. He gets a lobotomy that erases all the evil in his heart and is still mostly a dick. He loves his brother more than himself. He drove his step-father to suicide at age 10. He's obsessed with one very specific Dragon. He killed the digital ghost his step-father left behind. He literally said "Stop saving the world and get a hobby." People are constantly trying to steal his company. He turned the in-universe equivalent of Lockheed Martin into the in-universe equivalent of Nintendo. A second lobotomy would not fix him. He gets his soul stolen more than once. He flies around in a jet shaped like the Dragon he's obsessed with. His entire dueling strategy is summoning the Dragon he's obsessed with and bludgeoning people to death with it. Somehow this strategy worked so well that he never lost before he got lobotomized. People try to kill him with satallites.
He's like 16 years old.
"you gotta play with the cards you're dealt" WRONG. i play pot of greed which lets me draw two additional cards from my deck

Trying to recommend people watch Yu-gi-oh is always an insane pitching experience because the basic premise, what the show's about, and the actual meat-and-potatoes plot mechanics are all extremely different from one another.
The premise for DM is that some kid has an amnesiac ancient egyptian ghost haunting him and various billionaires are going to try to divest him of his jewellery. What DM is about is platonic devotion, staying true to your friends, the all encompassing power of love, and the eventual burden of moving on from death. This entire thing is painted in the aesthetics of 90's punk and visual kei.
The premise for GX is a kid attends card game high school and goes on wacky adventures. What GX is about is growing up, about seeing the world get more and more dark as you get older until you don't think you are the same person anymore, and having to hold onto the things that make you you. The later seasons draw heavy inspiration from lovecraftian cosmic horror.
The premise for 5Ds is a street punk has to team up with new friends and old enemies to fight on behalf of ancient south american space gods. What 5Ds is about is classism, and tools of oppression in a hi-tech futuristic society that is literally powered by magic. The visual language ping pongs between classic cyberpunk grunge and ultra sleek hypermodern.
The premise for Zexal is a different kid with a different amnesiac ghost that lives inside his necklace team up to find his memories. What Zexal is about is human connection, about reaching out a hand into the dark, about not being alone, and the pointlessness of war. This entire thing is themed with elements of the christian bible.
The premise for Arc-V is a theatre kid who travels the worlds spreading cheer and smiles with his circus performances. What Arc-V is about is child soldiers, and indoctrination into the military industrial complex, and the emotional dissonance that forms between events of trauma and day-to-day survival. One of the characters is inexplicably a traditional japanese shinobi.
The premise for VRAINS is a depressed highschooler cybercrime-ing his way through the internet so he can find answers to why he was kidnapped and tortured when he was 8. What VRAINS is about is the future of corporate greed, about healing, about what makes a consciousness, and the poisoning power of hate. A solid 50% of the story is just really good goofs on modern internet culture.
But if you just throw on a random episode of any one of those, the actual construction of any given one are going to be pretty much the same: It's all Card Games babeeeey
Art piece I did for the "Engravers" zine (Currently the @starsofthestagezine) featuring Al and Yae!
Art piece I did for the "Torn Pages From Books of the Dead" zine (Currently the @engraverszine), featuring all 9 of Vollachia's Divine Generals!
Emilia from episode 11! I was really taken by the way she sliced away the witch's cocoon like that. She was both kind and badass this episode, it was a really strong hilight for her.
Subaru who forgor and the people who relied on him to rember

VERY weird when people talk about the heatwave in Europe and the effects wars have on our climate without mentioning the war happening on the continent they're talking about
Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.
Reblog if you're okay with people coming into your DMs with the "you seem really odd and your blog intrigues me, do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters"
I am always messagable! Will I be easy to talk to? Probably not. Will you have to message me multiple times before I remember to respond? Probably. Do I want to speak to you and appreciate it regardless? Yes, absolutely.
this is The realest post ever . i am always messageable . but yea people think i will bite their fingirs
