I’m done with amatonormativity in schools, oh my god it’s driving me mad. The looks of pity my teachers give me when I mention that I don’t want to be in a relationship.When they tell me that I’ll grow out of it, that I’ll find the right person later along the road. I give up explaining to them that, THAT is not what I want. I want to live in an apartment with my friends and my cats. I want to live a full life, and that doesn’t mean with a spouse or children. I’m just posting this here for my aces and aros who are feeling down on themselves and defeated tonight. Remember that nine out of ten people support you and that the current loudest voices are not those of the majority.

And for anyone in the notes saying this poll was skewed or faked: my 20+ year old local LGBTQ+ center is openly ace-inclusive on their website, there are asexual and aromantic flags in their main room, and all of the people I’ve met there so far are inclusionists, including the 40+ year old queer lady. GLAAD and Trevor Project are two examples of well-known LGBT+ organizations that include ace people. Y’all have gotta be living in a hobbit hole if you think exclusionists are the majority.
