It was only legalized in 8 US states (the 8th only a few months before), and wouldn’t be legalized nation-wide until 2015.

It was only legal in TEN COUNTRIES in 2011. We wouldn’t hit 20 countries until 2017. (Australia was 23rd)

As of today (April 14, 2026), I believe only 38 countries have fully legalized same-sex marriage. Out of somewhere around 200 countries in the world. That’s only ~19% of countries.

A time-lapse video made from a series of photos taken by Artemis II as they were speeding away from Earth at 4,000 km/hr. The Sun is behind the Earth, so this is the night side of Earth lit only by the reflection of light from the moon! (They are very high ISO, long exposure photos, so the camera is seeing much more light than the human eye can see alone. It makes nighttime look like day) There are so many crazy things in this:

The Northern and Southern Auroras are visible moving at the top left and bottom right

Thunderstorms far to the right edge

City lights along the coasts of the continents

Orbiting satellites, clearly visible on the left and right of the Earth

This is wild! I love Earth and space and NASA and science so much.

Very excited to finally share some pictures of my Dread Pirate Frogerts build! I've been thinking about making this outfit for my Kermit for a while now, but the proper motivation to actually get this done was hearing that Cary Elwes was announced as a guest for my local comic convention! So with any luck Dread Pirate Frogerts will be getting to meet the real Westley very soon.
