I think probably the biggest surprise of the finale for me—well ig that’s not true; somehow palpatine returned was the biggest surprise, followed closely by sudden cut to abstraction—but a surprise of the finale that was big to me was that Jax… wasn’t an egg. she was just in the deepest, most reinforced, deadlocked prison cell of a closet she could make for herself.

Like obviously it makes a lot of sense, I’m not saying it’s out of place with the rest of her character… I think was just so certain that part of her repression included some amount of self-deception. Of a refusal to acknowledge even the possibility of transness. Of a forced ignorance, an insistence that I don’t know where that thought came from.

The fact that she’s known this definitively about herself the whole time—enough to come out to her mother long before the series starts—enough to half come out to Ribbit and instantly regret it—makes her whole arc feel so much… sadder. Working so hard to protect and hide herself from everyone, to convince them all she was someone she wasn’t… denying it to herself when she knew it was there… She must have been so miserable and terrified and exhausted, all the time.

Oh yeah I’m sorry but me and my friend lost it when the Jax montage came on, my friend was tearing up and then it started playing flashbacks,,,,,, both of us just audibly went “huh”

I've watched the wholee movie, but I won't spoil anything for now, don't worry ✿⁠ ⁠⁰⁠ till 19-20th I will scream about it.

I argue that a lot of people love the more intimidating look of the sharp canines.

Why is everyone forgetting that Jax didn’t actually 100% kill her mom, she just doesn’t know what happened to her. Ribbit makes the extremely good point on if she WAS dead, that there would be a police investigation that would 100% track Jax down. She’s almost certainly alive, potentially injured, but the fact no one came after her implies that she didn’t kill her and that she didn’t press any kind of charges.

I also dont blame Jax for running or pushing, she had spent a long period of time berating and verbally abusing her (you could also read some of the language she uses about it to imply physical abuse) before she suddenly grabbed her. She panicked because her abuser grabbed her, the fact it was a hug doesn’t change the situation that she was grabbing her after heavily abusing her. Of course she pushed her away?
