im already so sick of hearing abt hantavirus from ppl who havent cared abt covid since the government said it was ok not to. IF we "lock down" which is doubtful it'll be even worse than last time when everyone was going to grocery stores with their mask below their nose because now everyone's really fucking weird about masks & people will stop caring the second 5he govt says "well it only affects the disableds so us normal people are fine to spread it around now" & they'll turn a blind eye to the deaths from hantavirus the way they turn a blind eye to the deaths and disabilities caused by covid & they won't mask because it's mildly inconvenient & they'll say masks dont work without wearing actual respirators & they'll say "we should've just kept everyone on the ship" and then go cough on people on the bus and at the grocery store and at the doctors and at work and and and & theyll assume theyre not sick because theyre asymptomatic & nobody will be able to come to terms with the harm theyve done the people they couldve killed or disabled and to be fair it is a lot to reckon with but you have to reckon with it anyway. "i cant deal with another pandemic" we're in the first one and its killing and disabling far more people than it was in the time period people call "during covid." and every infection does damage to ur immune system (yes even if youre not "high risk"!) meaning, and i hope im wrong here, but this thing has a good chance at spreading like, well. the fucking plague.
