okay so as of like 3 days ago i’ve joined my local roller derby team bc i know like 4 people on the team even though i haven’t skated in years bc they’re really cool and they teach you how to skate and everything
we’ve had 2 practices so far (sunday and tuesday r the only days we meet) and the first practice was really exciting to me bc i had no idea what my skill level was at i assumed id be holding the wall the entire time and constantly falling so when i was able to do just the basic skating i was impressed w myself. but now today at second practice im realizing some of the things im struggling w like stopping and holding myself in a lower position are because im not physically strong enough to do it and its like making me sad lol. like i know i am physically weak i literally do not exercise ive never even played a sport before i just jumped into this on a whim. and i’m like okay i obviously just need to make myself stronger and practice more of course but it’s kind of embarrassing low key like wow i have no muscle at all. ! Also remembering to eat more consistently is something i’ve been working on for a really long time now so obviously that will help too and increasing my calorie intake.
i need to make myself stronger!!! so i can be the best at my new sport hobby interest
wait why does opening my first letter from my penpal have me giggling and kicking my feet this is so fun i love learning about new people. and i think also the format of it is comforting to me like the pacing is a relief bc i don’t have to constantly be replying it’s just you send it off and then wait. feels like i can be more genuine too since i don’t really “know” them so im not worried abt them not liking me or something. i think i could really get into this
