Lan Xichen, wistfully thinking about when he was the only one who got to lay eyes on that pale neck. Lan Xichen's gaze getting caught on the soft little hairs at the nape of Jin Guangyao's neck, trying to escape from their up-do. Oh, the longing to reach out and tuck them back in place! The impossibility! The impropriety of such thoughts!

He would 100% develop an entire fetish about it.

//I love this paragraph so much because it shows how Daniel is a weird, morbid, twisted guy and he loves Armand for exactly the monster he is, rather than being blinded to his nature by his beauty or something. The Meng Shi story I posted a few days ago had a piece of original music attached.

Because I have so little training in music - and none in music composition - it takes some practicing to play the songs I 'hear' in my mind. So, when putting together Your Mothers' Lessons - a piece combining Meng Shi's lullaby and Madam Lan's river song, to represent their sons meeting and ending each other's loneliness - I recorded five different tracks: two orchestra, two flute, one electric piano. Then I chose the best "take" for each instrument, and the final recording used only those three tracks.

Yesterday I wanted to listen to the song, so I hit "playback" on my piano. But I forgot to mute the unused tracks.

And I discovered that the two flutes harmonise.

Two voices, singing together.

The song lasts 1:10; the Xiyao "duet" begins at 0:46.
