yeah yeah yeah percy and annabeth deserve to go to college and live peaceful lives and I guess New Rome accomplishes that but maybe just maybe I LIKE the idea of wacky demigod hijinks that come with them living in the mortal world hmmm??? maybe I can APPRECIATE the comedic potential of them having to juggle demigod responsibilities while going to college in New York?? Like come on, they’re seasoned fighters, a random monster isn’t going to take them out, let Annabeth go to her dream college that will give her merit in the mortal world as an architect and if the trade off is that she has to occasionally excuse herself from her classes to quietly deal with an empousa out in the hall, well then so be it. Let Percy get to go to a college in his city, near his mom, and sure he might have to consider whether his chem professor is a monster from hell or like, an actual monster from hell, but then again who doesn’t??

no because it IS about how percy and annabeth never said it directly but showed up for each other in the ways that mattered. annabeth never even considered that she wasn't right with percy the whole time. percy never even considered annabeth not being a part of his efforts. they never said a word but always new the other person was right there when they needed each other and thats why they work the way they do
