yeah I don’t believe for a second that all Peeta’s nightmares were to do with losing Katniss at all, especially when we think about the horrors they’d experienced by this point. I think him saying his nightmares were about losing her and he was okay once he woke up and realised she was there was him minimising his own nightmares and just trying to be sweet to her.

I don't know if it's exactly that, but it does seem as sort of a half truth that could stretch to account for most of it. Because whether the nightmares were about Katniss dying, turning into a mutt or an enemy, Peeta dying and leaving her behind, Peeta suffering in any way with her not being there for him/ not being in the dream at all for him to get courage from her, her dismissing him when the nightmares played up on his insecurities of not being enough or worthy or worth it; her mere presence next to him was enough to make it better when he woke up. Of course the nightmares could often be irrelevant, but they played off of some really real fears, and Peeta's existence and life have been so tightly interwined with hers at this point, everything about them is relevant to her too. Even if does not feature in the dream at all.

What does it say about my mental state that I keep reading stories about the same two people falling in love over and over again in different universes? Personally, I like to think it qualifies me as a stable and sane individual.

Isn't that how the love triangle was supposed to do too? Make people forget that it's literally people dying in the arena while we root for which ships, and I meant we as in us the readers and the Capitol

i do find it funny that movie everlark are always serious and brooding around each other while in the book they bicker over if peeta’s icing skills would be useful if the arena was a giant cake or not
