Something I don't understand is fic writers apologizing for word length in a chapter... like do enough people comment on fics in general that they want the word length of chapters to be shorter that authors feel the need to apologize and say they'll make the next chapter shorter??????? Seen it multiple times across different fandoms. I'm out here reading 50k one-shots and loving it. WHO is complaining.

Silo is kinda meh to me since they did a sets up a black man to be the protag only to say sike the protag is actually a white woman. But I really like the setting so ive kept watching(pirated ofc). Anyway they just did a realistic sedative scene where the person who gets injected doesn't instantly pass out and beats the shit out of the person who injected them for a minute before passing out which was fun.
So many people hate their own body so much and are so casually fatphobia toward themself and the thing is, when you're not, when you've healed yourself enough that you can look at yourself and say "my body is just a body that does body things" it becomes nearly impossible to be around people who openly hate their bodies. It feels like they're flinging their muck all over you, and you gotta shake yourself out so it doesn't stick. And misery really does love company. They'll talk about how fat they are and how they can't eat this or that or wear certain clothes or cut their hair short, and they want you to lament with them. And you gotta not, okay? You gotta not. You gotta walk away from that shit.
And you HAVE to pay attention to the things you say about your own body in front of other people, lest you become the person flinging your muck onto others.

It's always fun when an author claims their work contains no politics, because either they're blatantly lying, or they genuinely think they're telling the truth and you get a lot of insight into what assertions about human nature they regard as so obviously and self-evidently true as to lie outside the political sphere.

yk guys I think a lot of ppl when arguing against the death penalty go for a like "people don't deserve death, etc" view and I get why ppl argue for that I rly do! but it doesn't matter. I don't trust the government to do it, I don't trust them to decide who should die, I don't trust them to determine who is mentally competent, I don't trust them to not be bigoted and discriminatory in their practices, I don't trust them to have the right people, I don't trust them to execute it in a humanitarian way. and I've had discussions with ppl who otherwise have similar viewpoints to me in many ways but can think of people they think deserve to die, and I think if abolishing the death penalty is like, a super important cause to u the same way it is to me, the argument u use shouldn't be "well these people deserve to live" (although in some cases I think yeah the death penalty is done to people who totally don't "deserve it") because that's so subjective, it should be "do you trust the government to do it?" like, do you trust the people who cant even fill potholes on your road to determine who should and should not live

a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.
